Marcal is back for round two on Dustin Zahn’s Enemy Records with “Cyber Dystopia.” Marcal’s trademark grooves and clever vocal processing make this one of his most exciting and hypnotic records yet. It’s pure class…there isn’t much else to say!

BUT we have to try anyway…
“Cyber Dystopia” starts off with Bionic Jungle, a trippy peak time roller sprinkled with uh, lifeforms or something? We haven’t been able to identify them, which is just proof that Marcal is living on another planet we haven’t been to yet. We’re standing by for the invite.

Moravex’s Paradox picks up where Bionic Jungle left off…chugging along in his signature style. It’s loopy. It’s tooly…but still heavy on the grooves, making it a perfect fit in deep and peak time sets alike.

Nothing About the United States hits a little harder and darker. Dissonant drones and catchy sound design take over, flipping the switch from “party” to “punish.” For fans of his recent track on Enemy, “Never Wrote This.”

Don’t Fear the Three is a classic Marcal percussive workout in heads-down mode. It’s as equally powerful as every other track on the record.

“Cyber Dystopia” is all about the world we are living in right now: artificial intelligence, smart houses, smartphones, self-driving cars, deepfakes, fake news, cybernetic warfare, metaverse, social networks, the internet of things, machine learning, virtual reality...
We are definitely entering a new stage of civilization, the post-modern era.
But,
Are we living an 'apocalypse of self-abdication' already? Or we are, as humans, simply evolving as technology evolves? There will ever be a limit to technology? Will it help as much it can also destruct?

Alec Dienaar - Rewind

We premiere music from one of the leading names within techno today, Alarico. The Primal Instinct Records boss returns to SHDW & Obscure’s fabled imprint Mutual Rytm with an eight track EP, blending with his signature groove with new exceptional sound design and sharp minimalistic techniques.

Alarico is back on Mutual Rytm with his ‘Drops Of You’ EP. The Italian’s return to SHDW & Obscure Shape‘s imprint see’s him breaks new territory once again as he flexes a wealth of intricate production technqiues across eight dancefloor armed tracks.

The Milan-based artist Alarico has firmly established himself as one of the leading names within techno in recent years. Taking inspiration from the harder realms of techno from the 90s, he adds his own quirky rhythms and quickened sense of groove to showcase his modern take on the genre. He is one of the few new techno producers that has really a unique sound and charisma within his tracks. Using occult samples and granular synthesis to his full advantage the young producer has crafted an inspiring sound that is truly isolated from other producers.

We premiere his latest offering ‘Sino’ taken from is eight-track EP on Mutual Rytm. This locked-groove is simply made for the dancefloor, as sun-kissed dub chords take the front seat on this one, while chunky drums lay the foundation for a stomping rhythm. Alarico leaves his signature imprint all over this, as an infectious vocal hit lays over the top of crispy percussive grooves, making this an instant mood-lifter.
