Two of Belgium’s finest are back on Dispatch, as M-zine & Scepticz re-open their arsenal for the ‘Diffraction EP’, their first solo EP on our main Dispatch Recordings label.

Leading on from single ‘Nether/Obviate’ last September, the duo continue their purple patch with another nugget of fantastic music, continuing to surprise with every step. The EP keeps a journey flowing, as M-zine & Scepticz cover four corners, switching up the style to keep things fresh and interesting.

Gritty from the off, title track ‘Diffraction’ opens the EP; a lurid, murmuring stepper, but the vibe develops throughout the release, with tough amen flickers pattering over sci fi atmospherics on ‘Last Time’.

Following suit, vocalist MC Gusto features in off-beat roller ‘Few Things On My Mind’, as narratives glide over sub-low waves, before ending the EP on a more tranquil tip with ‘Bent’, as deep bass tones accompany warm, intimate chords.

Crafting their vibes with precision and subtlety, M-zine & Scepticz present an impressive debut EP for us at Dispatch.

Tephra & Arkoze are back again with an EP packed full of collaborations and some of their best music to date.

Long time friends Paolo & Hillzy worked with the pair for two tunes - the title track “In Life” and also “Work it Out”, where they are joined by another long-time Dispatch favourite, MC Fokus.

“Perceptions” featuring Melysma opens the EP and is a rough, rolling debut collaboration - with promise of more to come from this trio it marks the start of a series of future work.

“French Connection” is the appropriately titled minimal stepper, created by the cross channel production trio of Tephra, Arkoze and Arkham.

When he signed to Hospital Records in 2004 Logistics made his mark with classic EPs like ‘Space Jam’, ‘Release The Pressure’ and ‘Wide Lens’. Now the Hospital heavyweight and connoisseur of soulful drum & bass, presents his four-track ‘Waveforms’ EP. The first in a brand new series that takes it back to where it all began. 

Opening the EP is the title-track ‘Waveforms’, a warm dose of the classic Logistics sound. Its big rolling basslines and uplifting vocals make this reminiscent of his anthemic tracks ‘Together’ and ‘Everlasting Days’.

Dipping into darker territory is ‘Ancestors’. Hypnotic, piercing sonics rattle around the body with steppy kicks to boot. On a similar wavelength comes ‘Rhythm Track’ - a 2019 tint on the original jungle roots. These two tracks are indisputable evidence that Logistics knows his way around the rougher side of D+B, as well as his smooth liquid melodies. Coming full circle is ‘Oslo’ with graceful harmonics and soothing instrumentation.

With nine studio albums and an impressive back-catalogue of singles and EPs under his belt, Logistics has become one of the most prolific artists in drum & bass. He’s garnered support from the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac and Rene LaVice, as well as 6Music’s Mary Anne Hobbs. 

He’s one of the most well-respected producers and DJs in the scene and this year he’ll be heading to flagship drum & bass events such as the all-day festival Hospitality In The Park in London, on the shores of Sardina for Sun & Bass, ADE and many more around the globe.

I've been creating music for about 5 years now, started off with Acid Music Studio 6, then 7, I then moved on to Fruity Loops 5. I had no idea how to work it but I found a ton of freeware synths (VST's) that I could use on it. So I started there, then found out what one shots and loops were! Then got bored with loops, wanted a more creative outlet; so I looked at everything from logic, cubase, and other software, but none were as cheap as Reason 4. So I got it. Absolutely loved it and started something that I never knew would or could happen; self producing everything within a electronic song myself. I recently upgraded to Reason 6 which in turn has upgraded my passion and love for music in general. This is in no way meant to be a market for me, but to help people who do love music to be encouraged by it. If you endure with something, it will either make you... or break you.
