Daniela Zepeda aka Xica Soul, DJ and radio host is currently based in Los Angeles, CA. Xica Soul knows how to make a dance floor move… A vinyl and dance music specialist, Daniela first made a name for herself in the SF boogie/funk scene, and has been playing parties across the US since 2010. Xica Soul weaves varying genres into her sets with ease, telling stories, and pushing limits with her selections. For two years she hosted a monthly residency on Worldwide FM, most recently hosts her monthly show, “On & On” via Hyde FM, and occasionally provides guest mixes on other platforms such as, Dublab, NTS, Vans Channel 66, Fault Radio, and The Lot Radio. Xica Soul can be frequently found in Stones Throw related circles playing sets at, Goldline and at The Lodge Room alongside legends Peanut Butter Wolf and J Rocc. Additionally, she has opened for artists MCDE (Motor City Drum Ensemble), Kim Ann Foxman, Lefto, Ross From Friends, Nabihah Iqbal, Jamie Tiller, and many other talented folks. As a DJ, her intention is “to move people, inspire and connect through the honest power of music.”  When you catch one of her sets, you’ll notice she’s always moving, always singing along, and her pure, joyful approach to music shines through. Sweet soul, downtempo, house, disco, boogie, and everything in between are seamlessly blended together with a smile and positive energy that’s felt by everyone on the dance floor.

Absorbing the sounds of New York since her birth in Brooklyn, Tara spins a collage of soulful sounds that captures an eclectic vibe. Her sets acknowledge the past while looking to the future and celebrating the now. Tara loves nightlife, having started out as an event producer and promoter. As a member of Rare Form, she helped originate Donuts are Forever, an annual fundraiser/tribute to hip hop producer J. Dilla, as well as Makossa Brooklyn Cookout, now over 10 years strong as a beloved Brooklyn summer hang. Tara believes being a DJ is more than just playing a mix of records; it is a matter of building trust between herself and the crowd and sharing the knowledge and love she has for the music and the feelings it projects onto the listeners. The crowd trusts Tara to become part of another great night in their lives, and she returns that favor by giving them a taste of the familiar as well as something new that may be something they have never realized was needed in their musical memory
