"Unbreakable Love: Mama's Legacy" is a heartfelt song that tells the true story of my life growing up with my mom. This song dives deep into the struggles and hardships we faced together, especially the times when she battled cancer while pregnant with me. Through all the pain and suffering, my love for her has never wavered. 

My mom may not have been able to take care of me as well as she wanted to, and I ended up in foster care. But I don't blame her for any of it. I understand that she was going through unimaginable pain and trying to survive. Despite the challenges and the separation, I want to honor her strength and the love she gave me in the best way she could.

"Unbreakable Love: Mama's Legacy" is a tribute to my mom, a testament to the resilience of our bond, and a reflection of my understanding and forgiveness. This song is a piece of my heart, sharing my personal journey and the legacy of love my mom left behind.

I wrote and recorded the original music ideas in 2023. Listening to it a few weeks ago it inspired me to write the lyrics and finish the song. A kind of Ecology song with other related thoughts. So I wanted to just add that all of my photos from my album arts are made by me and all the ones with the same looking person in them They are me I have to specify this because some people on other platforms seeing my stuff on here and claim that my album are covers are garbage AI They're not even done by AI I actually make them myself You don't need to use AI to make photos You can things like Adobe Photoshop and stuff which I do: Hello Just want to let everybody know once in awhile I disappear for a while anyways, I'm John Brand, a proud Mohawk Dutch music artist. While you may not easily find information about my nationality or background online, rest assured that I am very much real. I prefer to keep a low online profile, which is why details about me are scarce outside of my SoundCloud description. Even streaming platforms like Spotify may not fully recognize me, but here on SoundCloud, I want to make it known that I am a unique voice in the music industry. As one of the few active Mohawk Dutch rappers, I strive to represent my heritage through my art. Native American representation in rap is rare, and I aim to bring our culture to the forefront through my music. Thank you for tuning in and discovering the story behind the music.

If you've noticed, I don't like to talk to people online or interact in comments. This is just who I am and my personality—I prefer to post my music and let others listen, then move on to share more songs. I have thousands of songs, getting close to over 5,000 songs I've produced, including remixes, beats, my own rap songs, and other types of music.

I grew up in foster care and was abused, used as a slave, and sexually assaulted multiple times by women in foster homes. After being abandoned at 15 by my adoptive family in New York City, I was homeless until I was 18. During that time, ex-gang members who were also homeless took me in and protected me. At 18, I was adopted by my new adoptive father, celebrity photographer James Edstrom. Now, at 34, I make and share my music online, having dropped most social media due to the racism and harassment I've faced.

I switched from my old name, DJBrandywine, to my new name, DJ Tá'sawennaté:ken, after being harassed and stalked. Since rebranding and embracing my Mohawk heritage, I've received hateful, racist comments, especially on platforms like YouTube. People have told me I shouldn't be rapping or that I look too white to be Mohawk. The Mohawk people are one of the most European-looking tribes in America, with ancient connections to Dutch and Germanic tribes. If you can't accept that not all Native Americans look the same, then you're a racist, and I want nothing to do with you. If you don't like me for being a native Dutch rapper, that's your prerogative, but do not harass me or be racist towards me. No one deserves that.

Recently, I encountered a severe bout of laryngitis, marking the first instance in my 34 years of existence. This unexpected ailment left me voiceless for several days, instilling a deep fear that perhaps the ability to sing would be forever lost to me. As I navigated through this challenging period, the prospect of not being able to express myself through music was a daunting one.

In reflecting on this experience, I realized the importance of vocal health and the fragility of one's voice. Laryngitis is not an ailment I would wish upon anyone, for the temporary loss of voice can feel like a permanent void. It dawned on me that if not addressed promptly, one's voice could indeed be lost indefinitely.

Despite the adversity faced during those voiceless days, it served as a poignant reminder of the value of our voices and the necessity to protect and preserve them. As I embark on creating new songs, it is inevitable that this challenging episode will find expression in my music. While not a song itself, this narrative represents a significant chapter in my life, serving as a testament to the resilience of the human voice and the importance of cherishing our ability to communicate through sound.
