In the Summer of 2013 there was a double grand trine where six planets in our solar system formed a 6 pointed geometry in the sky, a Merkaba.  

Synchronistically, several traveling musicians happened to be staying at Onedoorland during that time.

I had just returned from a two-week trip back home to Canada for the first time in two years, so on my return back to Portland I was ready to make some music. And to be surrounded by so many amazing musicians who I admire and respect was a dream come true. 

Inspiration was in the air.
 
We started with the late Josiah Akoya's elven flute magic (Rest in Peace brother.). After that magic was recorded, the bass and synth lines came very naturally. One by one, the 3 female vocalists entered the booth, each performing 3 unique, and completely improvised vocal tracks. It ended up that three women sang vocals and three men played the instrumental parts, reflecting the two triangles in the sky, in harmony and balance.

It was a unique moment where I could see and feel that the harmony of the spheres was mirroring the musical alignment in the studio. 

And boom.

Emanation was born. 

The name of this track speaks to the source of all matter and life that endlessly streams music, truth, beauty and wisdom from the center of every particle in the Universe, all the time.

Prana was recorded and improvised live in an underground former silo in the deep southern Utah desert over the winter solstice. The temperature outside was at about 10 degrees below zero, inside a giant wood stove burned away, and all around were about twenty or so sonic journeyers forming a meditative circle on the slate floor. 

The album contains vocals - but no English - rather the vocalizations you hear are more channeled sounds intended keep our language centers quiet and our hearts open. 

5 extended tracks - running time 48 minutes. 
This is a gapless playback continuous listening experience.

DJ Taz Rashid (DJ TAZ) brings a high vibrational energy to any crowd instantly by mixing the beats and rhythms of Love, Ancient New World, Remixes, House, Kirtan, Devotional, and all the cosmic sounds. His vision is to be a channel to cause the expansion of all those around by tapping into the creative wisdom of the body and allowing them to feel, let go and awaken. 

He has been producing and part of creating conscious events in the Midwest over the last few years and as a musician, he plays guitar, keyboard, Native American Flute, didgeridoo and hand percussion.  He takes these instruments and connects to the Divine and what comes through has the ability to move his crowd to connect to their Divine higher selves. Recently he has been performing and DJing at events such as Bhakti Fest, Serendipity Festival, Denver Chant Fest, Arise Festival, Zen Cruise, Hanuman Festival, Greenheart Transforms, Yoga Journal, Wanderlust Festivals and many more conscious gatherings.
