[ENGLISH] Another one of those sets I found buried in my archives since Psy Nation era — and it definitely deserved to come back to the surface. Recorded on February 19th, 2011, this is a tribute to the Israeli project Krunch!

At the time of the recording, Krunch was a duo: Zeev Dukman and Omer Kadosh (Rizo) — two producers who knew exactly how to bring weight, groove, and attitude to the dancefloor. Most of the set revolves around tracks from their 2009 album Booster — a high-pressure release full of bold ideas and standout collaborations that still sound fresh today.

The selection includes tracks like “Squeezer,” “Pura Vida,” “Syncopat,” and the hard-hitting remix of “Sex Style” (originally by Astrix), along with collabs with Xerox & Illumination and Astrix himself. It’s raw, groovy, technical, and absolutely thrilling — exactly how Krunch used to do it.

This tribute resurfaces as a nod to one of the most unique projects of its time. If you connected with the more groove-heavy, rock’n’roll, acidic, and rebellious side of 2000s psytrance, you’ll feel right at home here.

[PORTUGUÊS] Mais um daqueles sets que reencontrei nos meus arquivos desde a época do Psy Nation — e que merecia voltar à tona. Gravado em 19 de fevereiro de 2011, este é um tributo ao projeto israelense Krunch!

Na época da gravação, o Krunch era formado por Zeev Dukman e Omer Kadosh (Rizo) — uma dupla que soube, como poucos, trazer peso, groove e atitude para as pistas. The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.

Tampa, Florida based DJtheJudd has been DJing since 2002. Growing up as the typical American teen on rap and alternative rock, he realized his true love for dance music after hearing electronic albums "Play" by Moby and "Dreamland" by Robert Miles in the late 90's. While studying abroad in college, he first heard "Another Chance" by Roger Sanchez on MTV Europe, and he went deep down the dance music rabbit hole. His biggest influences are Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, John Digweed, Gabriel & Dresden, Dave Seaman, Markus Schulz, and Danny Tenaglia. With a trademark eclectic DJing style, he blends progressive house classics and newer tech house tracks with various ambient sounds and songs from movie soundtracks. In 2021, he started his own radio show "Progressive House Highway" on SoundCloud, which now has over 500 episodes with streams in 153 countries. He has a massive vinyl collection and mixes with a digital controller and turntables. Expect the unexpected with his DJ sets and prepare to dance and be moved with his unique musical journeys.
