The hypnotic momentum of the night passes to the hands of DJ Three as light begins to fill sky and the new day creeps ever closer.  For forty breathless minutes we wait… until at last the sun breaks over the horizon, and a collage of verbal musings, psychedelia and ornate music fills the air.  Toying with echoes and teasing with nuance, shutters fluttering to capture the fleeting moment…a moment not soon forgotten for those who were lucky enough to be there, at sunrise on Sunday, Black Rock City, Burning Man, 2014.   And then, just as easily as we are led into that place, a whole movement of sound and energy returns the dance floor.

That’s about right! Techno living legend Derrick May played Van Czar – Vapeur Tardive, out on Eyepatch Recordings, in his latest BBC – 6 Mix radioshow!

Along with Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson, Derrick May is viewed as one of the founding fathers of Techno - a genre which has for a quarter of a century been constantly revolutionising electronic dance music and clubbing culture.
His seminal track 'Strings of Life' changed the game and sounds as fresh in DJ sets today as it did in 1987. In the words of Frankie Knuckles: "it just exploded. It was like something you can't imagine, the kind of power and energy people got off that record when it was first heard. Mike Dunn says he has no idea how people can accept a record that doesn't have a baseline."
Having taken influence from the likes of Parliament, Gary Numan and Kraftwerk, while helping to create a platform which made it possible for The Prodigy, Carl Craig and Richie Hawtin to make the music they have done - expect two hours of the premium music.

Christopher Milo AKA DJ Three, has been an important figure head on the American underground dance movement since the 1990s.  Contributing to production projects like Hallucination, Second Hand Satellites and Montage Men, as well as becoming one of the most trusted and musically knowledgeable DJs on the circuit, DJ Three continues to move and inspire the most discerning crowds across the globe.  Hailing from Pittsburgh, and growing up in the fertile period of post punk, industrial and early house and rave sounds, Three has held residencies in Florida, Twilo in New York, and regular spots for Fabric in London and the legendary Wicked parties in San Francisco. Mixed and curated by both Nik Colk Void alongside long-term label associate Gabe Gurnsey, as well as new member Joe Ward, this momentous contribution to the label’s long-running series captures and combines many of the cult British band’s core influences, spanning New Order to Dean Blunt, Sandwell District, Drexciya and The Fall. Loaded with the band’s experimental, outsider spirit it’s a fine hour of physical, potent outsider music, including their recent single on Phantasy, ‘Between You’.

A 57 minutes extended edit version of The Orb's Blue room (1992) with several weird samples underlying the Orb's music. In fact, I have used more than 50 voice samples and extended the track from 34 minutes to 57 minutes with the awesome basslines of The Orb and studio wizardry of Kris Weston. I will remove it upon request. NO LSD was used during this process.

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.

DJ Three has been tirelessly holding the flag for underground electronic music in the US since his rise out of the sunny state of Florida in the early 90’s. He’s held residencies at New York City's Twilo, Cielo (Robots), Love, Blk Market Membership and Output in Brooklyn, as well as Florida’s legendary Simons in the 90’s, Snatch in Tampa in the 00’s and The Electric Pickle in Miami all while playing lauded guest spots at San Francisco’s Wicked, Sublevel in Los Angeles, fabric London, Panorama Bar, DC10, Club Eleven in Tokyo and forward thinking festivals like Labyrinth Festival (Japan), Sunset Campout (USA), Day Zero (Mexico), Rainbow Serpent Festival (Australia) and Houghton Festival (UK).
