In a near saturated world of DJ’s, how do you get one that can properly cut the mustard and raise the roof at a party? The DJ that you talk about the most, even once you’ve sobered up and the party is over. Tina Hart is that DJ - she’s been spinning records for the past 22 years and has mastered the art of getting a crowd to dance even in the small hours of the night/morning.
 
With a vast musical career that spans across the globe. Her roots lie within the underground music scene in London, Brighton, Belfast, Thailand and Bristol. The past decade has seen her hold numerous residencies to include at forward thinking Bristol club nights Minotaur Sound, Amoeba and Hush.
 
It’s hardly surprising how, after such hard work to get her talents recognised, that Tina has stepped into a natural limelight. Her initiation into Djing consisted of playing out at illegal raves in Brighton in 1999. She would be one of the only women turning up with her records trying to blag a set, usually at around 8am in the morning after all the guys were mashed up. By the time everyone had been lambasted with 140+bmp hard techno, Tina would play house or old skool rave tracks and bring everyone back to life again whilst the sun would rise. It’s what Minotaur Sound calls the ‘Tina effect’ and she still has that magical knack today.
 
Tina is the perfect example of a DJ playing in her ‘flow’ and quotes ‘Music is like oxygen, I can’t breathe without it. It saved me from dark times and lifted me to new heights. Djing is a feeling, it flows through me like a lightsabre of energy. I’ve never been fixated on one kind of sound. To me music is energy and sometimes the room just needs a totally different energy shift. This is just like life and I’m never afraid to do this as that’s generated some of the best crowd reactions’.
 
Her cross-genre talents have seen her support an array of musically diverse artists such as Alter Ego, Fatboy Slim, Shapeshifters, Paul Harris, Steve Mac, Colin Dale, Radio 1's Annie Nightingale, Andy George & Jaymo, Octave One, Alex Metric, Hoxton Whores, Chris Liberator, Billy Nasty, Rob Tissera, Beardy Man, JFB, Queen Bee, DJ Derrick, Alex Banks & Radioactive Man.
 
Tina came runner up in a Pioneer Lady DJ competition in Bangkok in 2010 and has organised and resided at some illustrious underground parties to include Vibe Sound, Pride, Kosmik, Volks and Mynt. Her musical influences are vast – including Doorly, Jimpster, Honey Dijon, Alex Kenji, Format:B, Eli Brown, Detroit Swindle, Motor city drum ensemble, Zeb Bias and Patrick Topping to name just a few.
 
She’s held a charismatic stage presence at Blue Mountain, Basement 45 and more recently at Shambala Festival and Loco Klub. With her versatility and crowd-reading ability Tina is the perfect addition to any electronic music event and is certainly a DJ to watch.
