For south coast based Jungle/Drum & Bass artist Reddeye it has been a slow rise. After turning his back on the scene over a decade ago it wasn’t until the post apocalyptic haze of constant quarantine & lockdown that he decided to renew his vows and continue his love affair with the beats & breaks that he was missing.

With a particular love for all things jungle, Reddeye forgot nothing of his talents & was quickly offered residencies with some of the biggest hitters on the scene, including Rough Tempo, Goat Shed & Bloc2Bloc.

As a member of The Unit, and now restrictions have returned to something resembling normality, Reddeye has begun to showcase his talents to live audiences across the U.K., supporting pioneers of the scene such as Nicky Blackmarket, Micky Finn, Grooverider & DJ Hype as well as running sets with the likes of Ragga Twins & Fearless and performing on some of the biggest stages in the U.K. including iconic raves such as Jungle Mania.

Bit late on the upload..but my laptop died and has just come back from the IT docs today1
So, here is my Rupture Brighton promo mix that I recorded a couple of days before the gig, which was held at the best club in Brighton, THE VOLKS on the 24th February 2023!
I warmed up the main room with a 12" selection of deep, sexy, nawty, bass driven drum and bass with a hell of a lot of soul and realness! ❤
BIG LOVE ALWAYS to my Rupture and all my beautiful Volks family and dance floor massive each and every time! ❤

Closing the second segment of Sydonia's guest mixes we have RACH who brings us this incredible old skool/hardcore jungle mix!

Based in Sheffield but originally from Oxford, Rachel went to her first rave at Roots Club, Oxford in 1993 where she heard jungle techno and jungle for the first time and instantly fell in love with the music. Her teenage years throughout the 90’s were spent raving mainly in Oxford and London with Raging Rabbit at Minchery Farm Country Club (Oxford) and Lazerdrome (Peckham, London) being her favourite haunts.
 
Rachel moved north to Sheffield in 2000 where the music scene was very different. House and techno were dominant in the city and no one shared her love for jungle. Going with the flow, Rachel listened to more of these new sounds and even tried her hand at DJing hard house but this was short lived and she sold her decks about a year later.
 
In 2012, Rachel met her partner, King Chuga, a drum n bass and jungle DJ. Rachel would try to mix jungle at home on vinyl but only really started taking it seriously in 2022 after being heavily influenced by DJ Mantra and Rupture. In 2023, RACH played her first jungle set at the EQ50 networking event at Planet Wax. Since then she has started a monthly radio show, Journey in the Jungle on Radio Free Matlock and is in the process of starting a new jungle community in Sheffield, Unity Underground, with monthly events starting in September.
 
For this mix, RACH takes us back to when she first fell in love with the music, playing the tunes played regularly on Loaf and Don FM.

DJ Trax - Catch A Groove 159 (Live On Jungletrain 16.12.20)

DJ Trax started Drumming at 7, DJing at 12 and at 15 he formed the hip hop group Mixrace with two MC`s (Dev Paradox + Leke Aerosoul.)
Trax released his first track a year later (1991) on Brain Records alongside DJ Raw. 

In the same year Trax and Dev signed to Moving shadow.
Over the next 3 years he released Solo 
12"s on Shadow under DJ Trax and Joint releases under Mixrace.

In 94 Trax + Paradox set up 5 record companies with Scott W and Gary S Stronghold, Mixrace Productions, Offset, Nautilus+ Mobhanded.

They released a couple of dozen 12"s on the labels, both solo, and duo (under Brown + Dangerman.) Trax + Paradox also collaborated with Hyper On Experience on Stronghold + Timeless.

From 97 to 2003 Trax mainly focused on downbeat/leftfield music. He released an album and two 12"s on LaCerba/3mv as well as releasing on Goodlooking, Kriztal, Mole, Beats + Pieces and Hed Kandi. I also Remixed Kutis Blow The Breaks!

From 2003 to 2009 Trax released a further two albums 1,000 Pictures + Thoughts In Widesceen which was on the front cover on Knowledge Magazine.

Trax also released on Outsider Music, Ocyris, Paradox Music, AKO Beatz, Omni Music, Skeleton, Transmute, Mole, Tempo, Next Phase, Repertoire, OSR, Subvert Central, Subtle Audio, Crisis, Misspent Music, Scientific, Syncopathic Recordings and my own label Audio Buffet.

Over the years as well as Paradox Trax has collaborted with Naibu, Ricky Force, Nucleus, DSP, Macc, Infest,Cryogenics, KJ Sawka, Becki Biggins + Enjoy. 

Trax has released a series of EP`s with US Hip Hop group Assorted Anonymous. Followed by a Vinyl album.

Alongside the releases he has also written music for many TV/Multimedia projectsand Scored for the Feature Film Shifty. He also has a bi-weekly radio show with Nucleus called 'Catch a Groove'

He has DJ`d in many cities across Europe and run nights through out this time.
