Turak grew up in Munich. This might be known as a conservative city, but if you look closely you can find many alternative bubbles with great people. Joining the underground music festival scene early on with a true passion for dancing and listening, he meanwhile found a new home in Berlin.

In his music, the love for freedom, traveling and life itself is audible. These are also some key values of his collective - Love Foundation. His roots in Hip-Hop and Deep House are underlying while sailing throughout slower waves. Melodic music for the soul with storytelling sometimes vast in variety.

Once upon a time I've been on a 4 day hike in Georgia. 

To Ushguli, a world heritage site in the Caucasus mountains. A world heritage site because of the war towers on every house. They have to hate their neighbors. Which are like 5. 

On the first day a cute, young stray dog joined us. We called him Baku. In the evening he got chased away by the biggest dog I have ever seen. We were worried. More than a day later he joined us again. We were very happy. He risked his life by crossing a river which we passed on a horse. The melodic majesticalness reminded me of the monstrous mountains. 

I miss Baku. I think he is still out there. Enslaving the massive hound who once chased him away.

Finally I wanted to travel again and now: Travel ban, cancelled Afrika Burn and I haven't heard anything from the airline yet. 

Well, what can we do? For me personally, it could be worse, though. Good to know that some people stand up for us at the moment. A donation for culture, surely won't be a bad idea: https://unitedwestream.berlin

I decided to upload some of the nice tracks I found recently anyways. For a better quarantine. I am looking forward to the next African sunrise. A sunrise like the one which made me write this translated entry of my travel diary. One morning in Ethiopia:

It was I without light. My shadow, my silhouette in the bush. Alone but not lonely. Somewhere in Africa. A dot on the map. A red little lamp on the globe. Glowing eyes of children drive cattle through the forest. They sell cola. Good for the stomach. After a field of flowers the vastness of burned yellow grass got me thinking I am in a desert. The ride back was exhausting. The shower rewarding.

Gedankenstrom gegen die Intuition 

Es sind diese verregneten und sonnenbedeckten Tage, an denen man ins grübeln gerät. Die Unsicherheit & Ungewissheit in mir, Gedanken des Zweifels säht. Ist es wirklich schon so spät, dass der Tag in die Nacht übergeht?
Ich liege wach in meinem Bett. Eigentlich ist doch alles perfekt. Doch irgendetwas hat mich aufgeschreckt. Mich aus meinem märchengleichen Traum geweckt. Ist dieses Gefühl der Angst wirklich ein unumgänglicher Nebeneffekt?
Plötzlich stoppen meine kreisenden Gedanken. Ich weise mich selbst in die Schranken. Warum soll ich das schöne in meinem Kopf zerreden, wozu mich mit dieser Negativität abquälen? 
Ich blühe auf in diesem Moment. Energie durchströmt meinen Körper und ich greife zu Hose und Hemd. Heute war ich lang genug mit meinen Gedanken allein, also gehe ich und kaufe eine Flasche Wein. Dann fahre ich zu ihr, sie bittet mich herein. Manchmal kann weniger denken und mehr Intuition, unglaublich befreiend sein.

Turak versteht sich auf melancholische Klangfahrten. In diesem Podcast jedoch, bedient er das ganze Spektrum der Gefühlswelt. Zeitweise traurig, wird es nach kurzem wieder unbeschwert fröhlich. Die kraftvollen Schläge der Bassdrum symbolisieren die Wut, welche ab und zu überraschend verstummt. Eine Achterbahn der Emotionen welche am Ende, mit einem ehrlichen Lächeln auf dem Boden der Tatsachen endet.

What a weekend. Incredibly warm-hearted people, great area and so many good moments. A perfect little festival during these times. No one got infected as far as I know.

The first song is so so famous, everything so so clean. I had to cut my playing time due to circumstances. Pause the music during the set due to circumstances. My headphones broke.

No problem. The pause is cut out and during playing nothing really bothered me. Somehow a great flow took hold of me and it was a great gig. Now I am actually pretty happy with the set, which came out so so spontaneously : )

First live recording online. Big step for me
