Opening a party& setting the vibe is always an honour.  I was rather glad to bring minimal house to this crew!  I started with our friend Timmus' amazing new piece which felt just perfect, then moved through an hour of fresh new dancefloor minimal with a couple of West Coast classics which I ripped from special 16 year old records. 
This is a short fast mix for me, not as deep or heavy as I usually go....picture the Paladium - a huge club in Melbourne - first set before about 12 hrs of friends!



Even if the dancefloor was just starting, I was playing most deliberately for the MelBURNers as they did their last minute setup, & those keenly arriving on time.  

The stage setup was tremendous & the lighting spectacular!!

Stefan Haag, known by his aliases Chinaski and S-F-X, is a prominent sound and visual artist, producer, and DJ based in Frankfurt am Main. Originally from Northern Germany, Stefan’s roots in digital arts have significantly influenced his approach to electronic music. Over the years, he has honed a signature sound characterized by catchy synth lines, blending elements of the past and present in electronic dance music.
 
His career took a significant turn in 2014 when he became a resident DJ at the iconic Robert Johnson club in Frankfurt. This residency has been instrumental in shaping his identity as a DJ and producer, allowing him to explore the dancefloor as a joyful space where nostalgia and modernity coexist.
 
His music as Chinaski brings 80s synth vibes to life, offering listeners a future-retro disco experience that is both soaring and glistening. His work has been released on respected labels such as Running Back, Dischi Autunno or Bordello A Parigi.
 
Under his S-F-X moniker, Stefan delves into a more experimental realm, merging his love for soundscapes and cinematography into a hypnotic, downtempo audio-visual experience. This project showcases the seamless integration of his dual passions, where sound and visual storytelling come together in a captivating and immersive way.

Stefan never stops pushing the boundaries of his artistic expression.

"gentle Rain pt.1" was composed during a light and steady rainy day, with the aim of creating a soothing and calming atmosphere. The track was recently featured on Petite Victory Collective's new sampler, HOPE Vol. 1, which explores the realm of electronic ambient music. 

Like many of my previous releases, this track isn't tied to any specific concept or framework. It's more of an exploration. A chance for me to dive into live hardware experimentation and share the mood and vibe I'm experiencing in the moment. It’s all about capturing the present moment.
