I had an amazing opportunity to play two 1 hour sets as part of Insomnia's MIXOLOGY series. It was an unforgettable experience that I hope to repeat in the not-too-distant future.

I dedicate this contest submission to the late Andrey Sluzkiy, who passed in 2008. In the 5 years I had the privilege of calling him a friend, Comfort Zone was his favourite club in the city.

To play at Comfort Zone would be an honour.

Mixed using 2xCDJ-2000 linked to Rekordbox v6 (no beat sync I swear!), recorded to a Zoom H5 from the tape out on DJM-800. Half-assed mastering thanks to Ozone v10.

Eastward is a delightful game and I recommend anyone that grew up in the 8/16bit gaming era take this for a spin. The music is, start to finish, a love letter to games from this period.

This is the result of a "noodling session" a couple weeks ago. The original song was (i think) for an item shop. As I listened I felt like there were bits of it that would make for a fun dance track.

So this is my (unauthorized) attempt! Maybe one day I'll get the samples cleared and release it.

Joel Corelitz - Johnny's (UNCL Mike Remix)

90s games weren't really known for having much ambient music. But those that did really showed what was possible with so little. Two examples of such are the subject of this mashup: 

* Aquatic Ambiance from Donkey Kong Country
* Two Tides from Ecco - the Tides of Time

With the help of RYMCast (Genesis/MD) and SPC700 Player (SNES/SFC), it was easy to export each channel. No additional instruments were added, though I did add various effects to liven things up.
