If you’ve heard this phrase echo through clubs and lounges across New York City, then you already know the name: DJ Underground.

Born and raised in the Bronx to Dominican parents, DJ Underground grew up in a strict household within a rough neighborhood. Life wasn’t easy, but hip-hop became his escape and ultimately his purpose. Countless hours listening to the radio sparked a passion that would change his life forever and push him toward becoming a successful DJ.

Underground began his journey at Margarita Lounge in the Bronx after completing his DJ courses. Influenced by DJ XL, he set his sights on expanding beyond local venues to the most recognized clubs throughout the city. He put in relentless work—mastering his craft independently, taking gig after gig every weekend, often with little rest. His love for music is what fueled his grind.

After overcoming numerous obstacles, DJ Underground made his way to Uptown NYC, where nightlife and brunch culture reign supreme. With guidance and a strong relationship with the well-respected DJ La Patilla, Underground’s presence quickly grew. He began making noise across Uptown and beyond—spinning at venues such as 809 Lounge, Cliff, downtown NYC including events at the Empire State Building, and Cameo in Miami, Florida.

In 2015, Underground made the bold move to quit his full-time job working at a school to pursue DJing full time. That same year, he was nominated for “On the Rise DJ” at the Latin Mix Awards and released his debut mixtape, Hot In The City, setting the tone for what was to come.

Inspired by some of the hottest DJs in the game—DJ Camilo, DJ Kass, DJ Big Ben, DJ Carl Blaze, DJ Danny S, DJ Ric Roc, DJ Precise, DJ CR8, DJ Enuff, DJ Reymo, DJ Lobo, Alex Sensation, and DJ Jinx Paul—Underground continued to elevate his sound. His high-energy, genre-blending mixes are featured on major platforms including Do It For The Likes, Mambo ENT, and more.

The following year, DJ Underground earned an internship at Power 105.1, New York’s premier hip-hop radio station. Working closely with DJ Reymo, he gained hands-on experience in radio production and broadcasting—another major stepping stone in his career. Since then, Underground has gone on to DJ on major radio stations including Hot 97 (NYC), Vibe 92.7 (Miami), and 103.5 The Beat (Miami), further solidifying his presence on both coasts.

Never one to conform to commercial norms, DJ Underground aims to bring authenticity, culture, and knowledge to every platform he touches—whether through DJing, radio, or creative ventures. In 2026, he reached a major career milestone by becoming part of the world-famous Heavy Hitters DJs, officially cementing his place among elite tastemakers in the culture.

Currently, DJ Underground is working on new projects, including his own brand, music production, a new app, and multiple high-profile collaborations—many of which remain under wraps.

Often considered the underdog, DJ Underground is on the rise to becoming one of the most elite DJs in the game.
