Deep house has gained popularity over the the past few years according to Beatport, being one of its top sellers among genres.  Especially in 2014 Deep House has exploded in popularity internationally crossing over and going mainstream.  Deep house is a subgenre of house music that originated in the 1980s, initially fusing elements of Chicago house with 1980s jazz-funk and touches of soul music.  My early memories of Deep House were artist like #BenWatt, #davidmorales, #frankieknuckles, #littlelouievega to name a few Pioneers.  Other favorites like #tubeandberger, #noraenpure, #claptone, #Guti are some of my most listened to.  This set has a very powerful &amp; clear sound.  Sexy, Deep, Jackin sound with some hip hop influence.  Overall really just intelligent music.  One of the best mixes I have ever done, really hard hitting &amp; refreshingly dirty.  Here is a special 90 minute mix of what Deep House is to me.

Álvaro José Arroyo González (also known as Joe Arroyo or El Joe; 1 November 1955 – 26 July 2011) was a Colombian salsa and tropical music singer, composer and songwriter. Considered one of the greatest performers of Caribbean music in his country.
Joe Arroyo was born in Cartagena. Born and raised in the neighborhood Nariño in Cartagena, Arroyo began his career at an early age, at the age of eight when he sang in brothels in Tesco, a red-light zone in his hometown. In the beginning he sang with groups like "Los Caporales del Magdalena", "Manuel Villanueva y su Orquesta", "La Protesta" and "Super Combo Los Diamantes", in 1971 he recorded with "La Promiscua".

This was a classic record I used to hear growing up so much,
and it was great seeing this remix unfold from start to finish,
I plan to make many more remixes like this very soon.

Ruben Blades was born July 16, 1948) is a Panamanian salsa singer, songwriter, lawyer, actor, Latin jazz musician, and politician, performing musically most often in the Afro-Cuban and Latin jazz genres. As songwriter, Blades brought the lyrical sophistication of Central American nueva canción and Cuban nueva trova as well as experimental tempos and political inspired Nuyorican salsa to his music, creating thinking persons' (salsa) dance music. Blades has composed dozens of musical hits, the most famous of which is "Pedro Navaja," a song about a neighborhood thug who appears to die during a robbery (his song "Sorpresas" continues the story), inspired by "Mack the Knife." He also composed and sings what many Panamanians consider their second national anthem. The song is titled "Patria" (Fatherland).

The song was written and performed by Moloko (Róisín Murphy and Mark Brydon). It first appeared in its original version on Moloko's second album, I Am Not a Doctor. The song experienced chart success after it was remixed by DJ Boris Dlugosch. Murphy had started writing the lyrics while clubbing in New York City, and knew the song was at heart a dance track, but the group wanted to record it in a different artistic fashion for its album version. Together with their record company they had commissioned mixes by Todd Terry (who had turned Everything But the Girl's "Missing" into an international club anthem). Moloko weren't satisfied with the Terry mix and had to convince their label Echo Records to put out the Boris D. version instead. The remixed version was eventually featured on over 100 compilations, and was later added on Moloko's third album Things to Make and Do after hitting the top ten in the UK singles chart. In 1999 it reached number one on the U.S. dance chart. As a form of barter for the remix, Moloko vocalist Róisín Murphy later co-wrote and appeared on Boris D.'s "Never Enough" single, starring in the video for that release as well.

With recent remixes by the Cube Guys &amp; Dj Chus I wanted to add my own twist to the original "House De La Funk" &amp; "David Morales's" Party In Da Ghetto.  A instant classic and old school favorite.  I took a snip from "Coyu" &amp; "Suara's" Belize off the "Southern Instinct EP" and added my own minimal tech sounds and FX.  Created my own Bass line from VST's in Ableton Live and mastered the final track at "Sabella Studio's" where the infamous Public Enemy recorded there tripple platinum album! Basic Mastering done with Ozone 4&#13;
Found some interesting gun sounds and chain fx and turned it into the main percussion for the track.  Began with a deep punchy kick and started to build the remix.  Fania Records by far has released some of the most inspirational latin artist of my life time, and over my career you will hear many remixes like this coming from me.  Samba &amp; Brazilian Rythms, Some nice custom crashes and white noise, and bass line was created using synth bass with the instrument analog inside of ableton.  Some cool compression was used to side chain and gate the original sample.  Raw latin percussion from "cachondea" leads the track till the end.  Not oficially mastered yet but I would like to consider this some of my best work yet.  I hope you agree! Check out the rest of my tunes and follow me on FB here:&#13;

For the start of the new year I wanted to launch a monthly podcast.&#13;
While I was creating the intro, I started to carve away at the classic&#13;
Rhythm Is Gonna Get You By: Gloria Estefan&#13;
I found some experimental synths and analogue for Richard Devine,&#13;
Cherry picked some latin percussion from various stems and packs,&#13;
and came up with what you hear here!  &#13;
I hope 2013 will prove to be my biggest year yet musically,&#13;
and this is just the start of where my productions will be heading this year!&#13;
Love to remix songs that my family and I grew up listening to.&#13;

Rhythm Is Gonna Get You! (Dj Villano Tribal Dub)

Latin House is an electronic dance music subgenre that mixes together house and Latin American music, such as that of Brazilian, Puerto Rican, Mexican, Cuban, Dominican and Colombian origin.&#13;
&#13;
In the 1990s a new generation of producers and labels broke into the market. Nervous Records released "Quiero Saber" by the Latin Kings, produced by Masters at Work, as well as "Everything's All Right" by Arts of Rhythm and "Philly The Blunt" by Trinidad. Strictly Rhythm employed producer Armand van Helden, who released "Pirates of The Caribbean Vol. III". Songs from the same label include DJ Dero's "Sube", The Tribe's "Go-san-do", R.A.W.'s "Asuca" produced by Erick Morillo, Rare Arts' "Boricua Posse", Escandalo's "Mas Buena" and Fiasco's "Las Mujeres" produced by Norty Cotto, Latin Kaos' "El Bandolero" and "Muevete Mama" and "Sugar Cane" by Afro-Cube.&#13;
&#13;
Today many other Latino house artists have emerged to create many successful songs of this genre, and also remixes.  Dj Villano is at the fore front of this new generation of artist.&#13;
&#13;
Desperado will be a monthly podcast dedicated to tech house, hand selected by Dj Villano.&#13;
&#13;
We will also be revisiting some of the classics that pioneered this subgenre of music.&#13;
&#13;

Nestor Morales (37), aka Dj ViLLaNo, is an New York renowned and respected DJ/producer with over 20 years experience of producing, DJ’ing, and performing. His track "Iberican Evolution" was released & featured on the Niraya World Record Label in 2011.
The young lion of latin dance anthems; with a Certificate in Electronic Music Production from Sae NY. Ableton Live Enthusiast with deep rooted latin influence. Villano has steadily been rising in the ranks and he has established himself as a crowd favorite, with a strong tribal essence which fuses naturally with modern tech-house.
