Originally I was planning to add full vocals to this song and I actually ended up doing that. However, the vocals just didn’t work with the song the way I wanted so I removed them. I still wanted to feature some vocal elements though, so instead of keeping the full vocals, I turned them into vocal chops.

The vocal chops fit pretty nicely to the song and they give that cool cipher feeling. I also like the melancholic atmosphere of the song that is created by the melodies together with the vocal elements and synths.

All in all, I’m very glad that I was able to use the vocals even though I had to chop them. In fact, it was actually a good thing that the vocals didn’t work because then I would not have made the vocal chops. Now the song flows really nicely and I think it has a unique sound.

I actually started to make this track in 2015. At the time, I was experimenting with electro music and I made the drop of the track. I always liked to drop very much. However, I was unable to finish the track and I totally forgot it. Recently, when I was searching trough my old projects, I found it again and decided to finish it. Honestly, I used to hate hardstyle music.
When I started to listen to electronic music around 14 years ago. Hardstyle was that one genre I did not like. I liked the melodies but at the time most of the hardstyle tracks were more "harder" I guess I would say and I felt like the hardstyle kicks were much more raw and all over the place. It just simply wasn't for me.

However, many years later I discovered hardstyle music again. I realised that hardstyle is much more than that. At some point I started to produce hardstyle music of my own. I noticed that if I could combine my melodic style and the hardstyle kicks I could create some pretty cool tracks. So I started to work and as you know my first hardstyle track was Can't Let Go 2.0. I really liked it so I created another track called Bouncing.

With Nightmare Fuel I'm continuing my melodic style. The fast tempo of hardstyle enabled me to make this fast paced track combined with interesting chord progressions and catchy melodies. It felt like I was doing some good old techno again! I'm sure you will like Nightmare Fuel as well.

When I started working on with Metasound I wanted to create something a bit more aggressive. I also wanted make something more bouncier and naturally preserve my signature melodic style.

So first I began to compose the main melody and the chords. The most difficult task on this track was to find the right sounds for this song. I tried many different approaches and I think I finally nailed the intro sound! It’s definitely the characteristic sound that makes this song.

After that I knew that I needed a strong and aggressive drop. It was really fun to make the drop and I think it sounds really nice and bouncy. Without forgetting the melodies of course!

Originally I got the inspiration to make this track from the Astronomia (coffin dance) song. I heard the original version of Astronomia back in 2011 and now I really wanted to make a similar style track. So I started to work on the song and while I was making it, Among Us rose in popularity and everyone started to play it. As a fellow gamer and creator myself, I highly respect people who can create awesome games and art so I started to take inspiration from Among Us too.

My goal with this song is to show respect to the creators of Among Us for making such an inspiring game. And what would have been a better name to the song than impostor? This is how an impostor would sound in my mind! I also want to thank the producers of Astronomia for making such an iconic song. Back in 2011, I when I heard the song for the first time, I was just starting my own musical journey and it definitely gave me a big boost of motivation!

Originally I made the main melody and the chord progression of this track at Christmas back in 2014. However, I wasn't able to finish the song. After some time I abandoned the project and moved on.

However, I didn't completely forget the project. I always liked the melody and I was sure that at some point I would finish the song. Couple of months ago I decided to revisit the project and this time I was finally able to finish it.

I think that the combination of powerful lead sounds, emotional intro and catchy melodies & chord progression makes this song really unique. I hope that you guys will enjoy this song too.
