From humble beginnings I emerged…NYC to the core. From Brooklyn 472 Marcy Avenue “Bed-Stuy” 334 Rockaway Pkway “Brownsville” 179 Linden Blvd “Flatbush” To My Father, “ Teddy the Piano man” whom I use to watch play congas along side the legendary “Tito Puente” out my project window as they were in the grass drinking beer and just vibing. These things stayed with me and help nurture my love for music.
 
At the age of 15, being young and impetuous I was doing some hand to hands to save up and buy me these 2 turntables because in my Hood DJ Frankie D & MC Tony G from Marcy were the shit. They would tap the light pole on Stockton St. and spin until 2 & 3 in the morning. Police would come down; they would turn it off and when they left turn it was back on again, simply for the love of music. But it was my friends Shawn Waters from the “FORCE MD’S” and his brother Marlow Waters “The King of Vinyl” who really got me to take DJing more seriously.
 
It was Shawn who came to my rest and got behind my 2 belt drive pioneer turntables and started scratching and cutting beats. I was stunned and I was hooked. I asked where did he learn that? He said Uptown in the Bronx. So I started hanging with Shawn uptown who introduced me to Afrika Bambaataa, Kool Herc, Grand Master Flash, Jazzy Jake, Grand Wizard Theodore, and Charlie Chase… All that did was make me go back to the lab and practice. I was in a group called the Fantastic Four from Flatbush and we were killin shit hahahahaha we had Flatbush on lock. The only competition we had in “The Bush” from a DJ’s perspective were “ Grand Master D” my dude Drew from Whodini and “Mix Master Ice” from UTFO.
 
Both were excellent DJ’s but in my progression as a DJ I went to different venues to hear DJ’s and maybe pick up a thing or two like listening to DJ Jazzy Jeff “The Man” and DJ Premier “The Other Man” But I think overall my greatest influences were from my Dad of course, who taught me how to listen to music. However, listening to DJ’s like Larry Levan, Frankie Knuckles, Louie Vega & Timmy Regisford introduced me to House Music, and in House I found a Home. Each time I spin I always think about the Four Fathers of House Music as they are my idols in this genre and I aspire to be just like them.
 
Currently I do live sets on EDMJAM RADIO on Thursdays at noon, where I spin Soulful, Deep, Tech & Classic House Music and Mondays from 10am at HOUSE STATION RADIO where I spin Soulful, Deep & Classic House both shows are two hour’s sets for your listening pleasure.
 
I´d like to give a shout out to JOHN SOULPARK from SOULSIDE RADIO who provided me with a form to once again express myself musically at BEATWINUS RADIO. Thank you John!
 
My DJ experience is extensive and some say when they hear me spin its reminiscent of the 90’s with a current feel. Maybe that explains my focus, which is house music. I love to spin it, hear it and vibe to it. It’s who I am and I guess it’s who I’m suppose to be. It’s in my veins like heroin and I’m addicted.  Music is the universal language that reaches us on so many different levels. For me it’s my salvation “ I’m not new to this I’m true to this”.
