Born and raised in San Diego, CA and now based in Orange County, V! AKA  @itsvidiep officially began her DJ career as a part of @academyofdjs Season 13 graduating class. Vi’s passion for music, however, goes back over a decade. She discovered @soulection after moving to NYC in 2016 and cites them as a major influence. In addition, she describes her style as an eclectic mix of hip hop/r&b, house, trap, and an array of global club beats. Vi currently DJs events throughout SoCal but she plans to include music production and the creation of her own curated events as she continues on her music journey.

AMPERS&NDS PLAYLIST 01: Parties & Percussions

The only way I know how to process difficult feelings and situation has been and always will be music. These past 5 months have been an incredibly draining, painful, yet rewarding and fruitful time. I’ve experienced a deeper low that I didn’t think possible, yet somehow I’m still alive to tell the tale. This mix is broken into 5 parts, which is my interpretation of the stages of my ego death:

¹ Spiritual Awakening: experienced many crises like enduring a painful breakup & losing "friends" back to back. I searched for more depth in my life. I felt as if something was profoundly missing in my life, while unlocking new levels of depression and anxiety.

² The Dark Night of the Soul: was involuntarily pushed into my isolation era. I felt utterly lost, lonely, misunderstood and isolated from others. It felt like the accumulation of my suffering. I knew something needed to change but didn’t know what or how. And then, felt the sudden pop of my ego bubble.

³ Exploration & Curiosity: I was tired of hurting and wanted to heal. I started to experiment with different spiritual practices, returned to my faith and to myself. Started doing things that brought me joy like dancing and going to concerts by myself. 

⁴ Enlightenment: Finally was able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Started meeting new people, reached a higher vibrational state. Started letting go of old patterns, toxic people, and bad habits. Started feeling connection again to others and myself, embracing this newfound interconnectedness. 

⁵ Rebirth: I felt like a completely new person. I realized my ego doesn’t have power over me and the beauty of truly surrendering to life fully. Life started feeling full and beautiful again. Living life in abundance and ease, realizing that everything is always working out for me. A new life of ease and abundance.

Enjoy this 5 month journey condensed into this 1 hour sonic journey. I hope this mix can provide healing to those going through similar things & feelings. You are not alone.

I will never forget this set. I was really nervous going into it. But as soon as the reaction off my first track, my nerves went away so fast. Still living off the energy from the night. djwavybb started by playing many electronic themed parties like Sorry for Party Rocking, Shrek Rave and Brownies & Lemonade. From there, she continued to pave her path in the electronic music scene by sharing the stage with electronic artists such as Snakehips, Manila Killa & Sam Gellaitry, Kasbo, Jai Wolf, Whethan & Flux Pavilion. On top of performing in many bars & venues throughout the country, she’s also gone on tour for Thuy’s Girls Don’t Cry tour opening for artist Ashley Mehta as well as performed at 2 electronic music festivals, Breakaway Bay Area 2022 & 2023. 

Electronic music is the sound of djwavybb’s soul and is her ultimate love language. You can expect to hear a blend of a wide range of electronic music, ranging from all types of house, trap and jersey club from any of her sets. She blends in nostalgic favorites reimagined to connect with the crowd and keep them dancing & singing all night long. Through her art, she hopes to inspire other women to pursue their creative dreams, especially in the electronic music industry.
