2 yrs later, i finally present smuv gruvs vol 2 :’) my lil bb passion project that has allowed me to reconnect with my inner child by playing with all sources of inspiration ~ this mix features jazz, orchestral melodies, r&b/soul, amapiano, afrobeats, funk, and house. this project is more on the experimental side, but i treasure continuing to explore and expand my musical horizons, diving deeper into the genres i love and discovering new ones. this 2nd vol was inspired by an array of things, but most notably by recent travels to portugal and spain, where the beauty and liveliness reminded me of my late friend, rose <3

Friends from RUNDAY asked for a "soulection, kaytra, house, hip hop, and r&b vibe." for their runs. In this almost 3-hour mix, I included a lot of RNB/Hip-Hop edits I've been diggin, throwbacks, trap beats, global sounds, amapiano, house music, groovy soulful stuff, and cute tingz in between. MERAKII, a Colorado native turned LA-based producer & DJ, started her musical journey in 2017 with Academy of DJs. Her music consists of various genres including trap, dance-pop, bass, and hip hop. She began exploring her own sound after graduating from Icon Collective’s Production Program and has since performed at event such as Brownie and Lemonade’s Spring Break Festival, ARMNHMR’s sold out show at Academy LA, Countdown NYE, and Beyond Wonderland. djwavybb is a female Filipina house DJ soon-to-be producer hailing from Long Beach, CA building a name & brand for herself in the electronic music industry. djwavybb has performed in many cities such as Los Angeles, Orange County, the Bay Area, Seattle, New York, & Chicago at venues like House of Blues, Catch One LA, Avalon Hollywood, Bill Graham Civic Center, Halcyon SF, 1015 Folsom, Public Works SF & The Great Northern.

djwavybb started by playing many electronic themed parties like Sorry for Party Rocking, Shrek Rave and Brownies & Lemonade. From there, she continued to pave her path in the electronic music scene by sharing the stage with electronic artists such as Snakehips, Manila Killa & Sam Gellaitry, Kasbo, Jai Wolf, Whethan & Flux Pavilion. On top of performing in many bars & venues throughout the country, she’s also gone on tour for Thuy’s Girls Don’t Cry tour opening for artist Ashley Mehta as well as performed at 2 electronic music festivals, Breakaway Bay Area 2022 & 2023. 

Electronic music is the sound of djwavybb’s soul and is her ultimate love language. You can expect to hear a blend of a wide range of electronic music, ranging from all types of house, trap and jersey club from any of her sets. She blends in nostalgic favorites reimagined to connect with the crowd and keep them dancing & singing all night long. Through her art, she hopes to inspire other women to pursue their creative dreams, especially in the electronic music industry. Through music, she hopes to make an unforgettable impact on her listeners and make them feel what she feels.
