 
2024 sees acclaimed DJ and producer DJ W!LD release his fifth album this summer, sitting
comfortably on his established label, The W. Known for his unique and party-starting take on
house and techno, the pioneering Parisian showcases his versatility as he targets the 2-
step genre, heavily influenced by the nostalgic UK vibe adored by many. “What I Do In The
Shadows” spans across nine tracks, crammed with pacey peak time action from one of the
finest to do it for multiple decades. The album will be cut on to 2x12” and released a few weeks apart from each other, quickly becoming an
essential item for the collections of the tastemakers amongst us.
As times evolve, one thing remains constant, W!LD is always looking to grow, but stays
firmly appreciating sounds and fascinations of times gone by, and with this cohesive body of
work he addresses exactly that. Floating between various refined shades of garage, and UK
tech house, leaning on energetic drum patterns in the likes of “High As A Kite”, and “I’ve
Never Cried”, utilising sub heavy side winding bass lines in dance floor riddims such as
“Marijuana” and the title track “What I Do In The Shadows”. Heads down, gun fingers up
action from beginning to end, teeing W!LD up for another strong year to add to his career,
and another stand out release slotting in perfectly to his extensive catalogue.
W!LD maintains his stay at the forefront of the underground and beyond year on year,
always looking to explore new territory, enhancing his artillery by delving in to new genres,
and letting these influences breathe life into his meandering DJ sets whether that be at his
own Take A Trip events or for promoters in all corners of the globe. This genre melding
approach is something he also adds to his productions as he has six other albums archived
for future release touching on House, Minimal, and Electro, but also other shades of the
spectrum including Drum & Bass, Trip Hop, and Ambient. A true master of his craft,
expressing himself with a limitless attitude, broadening his creativity even after all of this
time.
Headsy action from a vital producer who shows no signs of slowing down, as The W sets up
shop for its biggest year to date including many releases and remixes from the pacemakers

DJ Mag Review:
Paris and Middlesbrough - not necessarily two places that seem naturally connected, but the former meets the latter right here as Dijon-born Parisian DJ W!ld turns out four tracks for house music's jewel in the north east, Luna Records. The result of this meeting of disparate elements is quite breathtaking. All four tracks here are pretty much unstoppable. The lead track, 'Lick It', with its shuffling groove and unsettling atmospherics, is merely one highlight; when it finally drops, the smashing 'Isla Bella' is as good a house track as we've heard all year. 9.5/10

DJ W!ld will release a new album next month called Dirty.

Born in Dijon and now based in Paris, DJ W!ld is a French DJ and producer and co-founder of Catwash Records (along with fellow Parisian house artist Chris Carrier). Since 2010 he's been a resident at one of Ibiza's best loved parties, Circo Loco at DC-10. Like many of his Circo Loco peers, he takes a slinky and upbeat slant on tech house, both in his DJ sets and his productions. Dirty is his second LP, after 2011's Palace, which came out on his own label, W. It will be the first artist album released on Cabin Fever, an associate label of Rekids that's usually devoted to club-tailored house edits. All of the tracks are previously unreleased.

Originally released in 2010, ‘Forever This’ by Fries & Bridges (Phil Weeks & Hector Moralez) was a monster underground hit due to it’s infectious sample and vocal, and went on to be included by Norman Jay (MBE) on his Good Times 30th Anniversary compilation.

Just in time for Miami 2012 come the remixes and what a line up it is!  Taking in legends DJ Sneak and Doc Martin, current hot properties DJ W!LD and David Glass, and future stars Chemars and Askander, the remixes of ‘Forever This’ see six completely different yet equally playable new versions that should get any self respecting house fan hot under the collar.

DJ W!LD is a Paris-based multi-dimensional artist, he has gone from being a cult favourite of the Paris underground to a globally recognised DJ and producer talent, creating his own blend of house, minimal, techno, breaks and acid. He can work any crowd thanks to his carefully curated DJ sets and his ability to go groovy, deep, hard or dirty whenever required. 

This has led DJ W!ld to be constantly on the road visiting the worlds finest clubs and festivals all while serving up a superb album on REKIDS offshoot Cabin Fever, or EP’s on One Records, Robsoul, Ricardo Villalobos and Luciano's RAL series, 2020 Vision, Moan or Solid Grooves to name a few, DJ W!ld is one the most prolific producers around and is also known for founding his own respected imprints: 

- The W Label that offers up the classic W!ld sound and remixers including Kerri Chandler, Chez Damier, Andres, Honey Dijon and many more. 
- Spit&Die, where the concept is one with his own track and one remix from one legend of electronic music. The first release kicked off with a minimal house masterpiece from the one and only BabyFord. 
- And the newly minted Take a Trip imprint which seeks and supports new talent and established producers releasing various genres like house, minimal, techno, breaks, electro, acid  as well as hosting parties in secret basements in London, it also held its own fetish themed party series in tucked away spots in Paris and that’s just a start. There is plenty more to come from Take a Trip and more of these events are in the works.
 
Aside from being a top producer with a slew of top tracks and record labels to his name he is also an accomplished visual artist. His tongue in cheek social media posts only hint at his playful skills and bumping track selection but he doesn’t play when he is in control of the decks. Long interested in contemporary art and fashion, W!LD has soundtracked catwalk shows for Paris Fashion Week, including for Vivienne Westwood, Thierry Mugler, Christian Lacroix. He also paints, and always works on blending art, lighting and music.

Despite many years in the game, DJ W!ld is relentless in his creative quest and never stops listening and learning, always one step ahead of the crowd, continuing to take risks whilst never compromising his art.
