The Throwback Twenty Series

In 2006, local radio station Power 106 had a Dj contest.  Armed with two vinyl turntables and a CDJ, I planned, I studied, I mixed.  My idea was to mix my favorite tracks, some of the current radio tracks and stay true to the westcoast, and of course show off what I can do.

June of 2006.  I wanted a 80 minute mix full of Westcoast music.  I had all this vinyl, and one CDJ.  What volume 1 lacked, volume 2 picked up on. By far one of my favorite mixes, I've even thought about remaking this mix so the quality would be up to par, I never gotten around to this project, so here is the same 2006 Release in 2013.

Someone told me to go pop.  I can't go completely pop without throwing in that WTK Sound that you know and love.

The life series is very similar to my Bi-Weekly series.  The main difference was, Life series was only going to be House/EDM.  Another tidbit about The Life Series was that it was a exclusive set of mixes only to be heard on a Internet Stream for rave/edc culture web site.
I was listening to this the other day and I kinda noticed that there are too many people that didn't get a chance to listen and download.

I was listening to this mix, and though about how many people haven't heard this.  This mix was one of the first times I used layering.  I used this mix as a trail and error mix.  I took the good and learned from the mistakes.  After this mix I started to work on actual mix tapes. 
Enjoy,  Trails, mess-ups and off beats are all still in tack, so enjoy how mixing on vinyl isn't always perfect!

Let's Work

This Volume is focused more on the Raw, Boom Bap Hip-hop.  I threw in Westcoast Hip-Hop that I loved along with a few tracks from around the same era that I used to bump.  It feels good to deep dive in the crates and find these gems.  Next Volume will be more Radio Friendly, Promise

Volume 18!!  A few months back I knew I wanted to pick this series back up.  I really don't understand why I stopped in the first place.  Playing a lot of my favorite tracks and keeping that Old School Hip-hop vibe in tact.

Throwback Twenty Vol. 18

I came across this little gem, while cleaning my hard drive.  This is a 2005 release from my self that got the royal treatment.  I pressed a few of these on CD, I passed them out, I shared it on my web site, and I promoted it on message boards.
Listening back...  This isn't the best material to promote but it held it's time as till this day I'm pretty happy with this 98% Vinyl mix.  
My crossfader was bleeding for most of the mix and this marks the first time I made a album cover with all original images that I made on illustrator.  

Still Mixin' (05 Throwback)

This is the beginning of a new series, I present to you, Throwback Twenty volume 1. This is a quick 20 minute mix featuring a lot of the hip-hop that I own on vinyl. While this episode is hip-hop, the Throwback Twenty is always going to feature old music from hip-hop, r&b, house, funk, and anything else I feel like throwing in.

One of the things I'm most known for on Twitch is Westcoast Wednesday!  Westcoast Wednesday is a 3 hour block of nothing but westcoast coast music.  Current to Classic Tracks all blended by William Tha Konqueror.
This mix is to give you a taste of what I do on Wednesdays.  A sample of modern to classic, underground to mainstream, LA, The Bay, and Everything else the represents the side I call home.
I've been a fan of Westcoast Hip-hop for years now, and it's always a pleasure to mix my favorite type of Hip-hop Wednesdays on Twitch.

Keeping the night club vibe in mind, along with being latino, I created a mix that showcased Modern Hip-hop along with Reggaeton, some Latin House.
The goal of this mix is to create something that would get played on Pitbull's Sirius XM Radio Station while still staying true to what William Tha Konqueror is all about.

The WTK Bi-Weekly #11

The year was 2000.  I submitted a mix to the Power 106 late night dance music mix show.  My mix was one of the few that was selected to be aired on Power 106.  While I didn't win the Dj contest, I'm very happy my mixed was played on Power 106.  This recording is straight off the FM radio, so quality isn't the best but it works!!
