StuBru asked me to do a special about 10 Years Defected Records. 30 minutes of my favourites.

(1) Mr. V - Da Bump (DFTD139 - 2006)

Louie stimulated his buddy on Vega Records and Defected made a full release of this track, high rotation on StuBru back in 2007. MR. V's performance in Ostend is still legendary, and he'll be back in 2010 at Krush Club! 

(2) Quentin Harris feat. Leela James - My Joy (SR12638 - 2008)

First heared this one thanx to TLP playing it in Ostend. Out on Restricted Access in 2005 and Defected/Strictly distributed Quentin Harris full album 'No Politics' three years later with a full release of the track. A lot of remixes, but the original is still giving me goosebumps. 

(3) Fish Go Deep feat. Tracey K - The Cure & The Cause (Dennis Ferrer rmx) - (DFTD129 - 2006)

It's Dennis Ferrer making this track to what is is today: my all-time favourite Defected release!

(4) Martin Solveig - Rocking Music - (DFTD082 - 2003)

The list could not be complete without a Martin Solveig track. The first track Defected signed from Martin and a huge killer it was back in the days. Rocking crowds all over the world. My favourite Martin track. 

(5) Blaze feat. Barbara Tucker - Most Precious Love (DFTD125 - 2006)

I saw Barbara performing on ADE this year and was surprised about the live version of this track. Best vocal house voice ever and it is Barbara making the track one to remember. 

(6) Hardrive - Deep Inside (Harry Choo Choo Romero's Bambossa Remix) - (SR343CD - 2009)

Louie's classic tune remixed by Harry for a peaktime killer track. Love it to play in Decadance to shake things up. 

(7) Dennis Ferrer - Hey Hey (Out April 2010 on Defected)

The response to the release of Dennis Ferrer's latest track has been absolutely phenomenal. Out now on Objektivity and Defected signed this gem and it will be out in 2010 on the mighty label. Instant classic!

(8) Ame - Rej (ATFC's Twin Cherries Edit) - (DFTD138 - 2006)

A  favourite Decadance anthem. Remixed by Defected's favourite producer: ATFC.

Spring Vibes

A timeless House Music icon, General Manager & Booker at Ostend Beach, home dj at Tomorrowland 

For over a decade (2000-2010) Yamo was the main resident dj of one of the most famous underground clubs in Europe - Ghent’s electronic music hotspot: Decadance. Playing with all major house dj’s in this legendary dancing on Thursdays & Saturdays, mixing at all important clubs in Belgium & abroad and hosting stages at the biggest events & festivals, Yamo became (and still is) one of the most influential house dj’s in Belgium. 

Yamo started his own club in his hometown Ostend in 2009: Krush Club. The club instantly became one of the coolest spots in Belgium, especially for house music, and had a lot of attraction by the world’s top dj’s who think Krush was one of the best clubs for a house dj to rock a crowd. He sold his club in 2017 to focus on world’s nr° 1 beach festival: Ostend Beach! 

Ostend Beach Festival (est. 2010) is Belgium's finest beach event, set against the beautiful coastline with ample space and the perfect atmosphere for the season. Electronic dance music brings the country's north coast to life, as local and international favorites build up the great summer vibe. For 10 years now, Yamo has been bringing nearly 80 acts a year to the seaside, including dj’s as Sven Väth, Jamie Jones, Kölsch, Joris Voorn, Green Velvet, Claptone, … 

Next to playing at the coolest clubs & festivals in Belgium as a dj and booking the hottest dj’s at his countless nightlife events, Yamo is a home dj at the Tomorrowland festival. He was invited to play at the first & second edition of Tomorrowworld in the US, played twice at Tomorrowland Brazil, played 4 dj sets at Tomorrowland Winter and has been playing Tomorrowland Belgium for 13 (!) consecutive years now. 

2020 will see his 20th anniversary as a true House Music icon & Yamo will play only Classic House sets around the globe!
