Xenomorph Mix (Dark Minimal)

On the first episode of my mix series "Blood on the Dance Floor" where I explore the darker and more "dangerous" side of electronic dance music I have prepared a few different styles of techno from minimal to peak and also I throw in a curve ball or two just to keep things interesting.

AlpaKa MuziK is happy to welcome a talented new member to our family, Zombi Adam is our latest resident DJ and official ambassador for New York City. 

Adam's musical journey started at age sixteen playing guitar in the NY/NJ Heavy Rock Scene. His love for music led him to school for recording arts while interning at various studios.

With a voracious appetite and curiosity for music fro all genres from he eventually found his way into the electronic music scene while “stuck” in the party island of Koh Phangan, Thailand over the COVID pandemic.  He fell in love with the dark atmosphere, attitude, and pulsating beats of techno combined with the psychedelic sound design and groovy/driving bass lines of psytrance. When he retuned to NYC he started playing in the local circuits and eventually decided to organize his own parties with a friend forming “Datura NYC”, a collective focusing on dark, minimal, deep, and psychedelic techno/house events in Brooklyn.  With an aggressive energetic mixing style and an insatiable hunger for all things different, tasty, and "flesh" he will always keep you moving on the dance floor.

This set has a very special intro and outro by "Sade" with a very special message that takes you through one off my most  cohesive set journeys I've played. It's dark, psychedelic, fun, energetic, and its made to free your body on the dance floor while also being introspective at times. I lost two friends during the covid years while living out in Thailand where eventually got in to electronic music, picked up the decks and found my way back to music. This set goes out to them and its the best medium for me to express my emotions.

As a label DJ for Alpaka MuziK and founder and organizer of the newly minted Xibalba NYC collective, he is deeply embedded in the scene, pushing boundaries and cultivating immersive experiences. 

Adam's musical journey began in the heavy rock trenches of NY/NJ, shredding guitar riffs from the age of sixteen. His passion led him to pursue recording arts, honing his technical skills and absorbing knowledge within the hallowed halls of various studios. Fueled by an insatiable curiosity spanning genres from classical to hip-hop, he ultimately found his true calling within electronic music's darker corners. 

Drawn to the atmosphere, attitude, and unrelenting rhythms of techno, interwoven with the driving bass lines and psychedelic sound design of psytrance, Zombi Adam delivers an aggressive and energetic mixing style that leaves no sonic stone unturned. Expect a relentless onslaught of unique and compelling sounds, guaranteed to ignite the dance floor and keep you moving until the very last beat.
