DIN, the project of Los Angeles's Josie Vand and Greg Vand, are able to extract choice elements from eras past and distill it into an impressively focused and modern sound. Every sound, every texture, every voice falls perfectly into place, as the palette effortlessly winds from warm and pastoral to cold and sharp, leaving you room to both dance and dream. The "Real Dirt" LP is infectiously understated from start to finish, and as the follow up to their "Saturate" EP on Ascetic House it proves that DIN is a serious force in modern synth music. 

Those familiar with the label may recognize Greg Vand from his role in the great High-Functioning Flesh, however DIN will likely appeal more to fans of Factory Floor, Tropic of Cancer, and Boy Harsher. Josie Vand has previously performed as a member of DVA Damas and contributed her visual art talents to the Jealous God label.

Ireland's own Autumns lands on DKA for a 9-track mini album,
Alexithymia. Having put out a string of solid releases with the likes of Downwards, Clan Destine, and AMOK Tapes we are extremely proud to share what we think is the young artist's best work yet. Prickly sharp basslines ride on top of driving rhythms while dark string synths fill in the space with an air of sensuality, the use of distorted, muffled vocals adding a distant yet urgent mood. As the title suggests, this very much sounds like someone reaching deep to feel in-touch with the emotions they've grown so detached from, a powerful musical momentum meant to shake up your mood and make you feel something. There is a distinctly post- punk feel to Alexithymia that sets it apart from most other techno releases. Expertly contrasting angular melodies along with inviting textures and dub techniques. Autumns is able to evoke the style of eighties pioneers like Public Image Limited, Pop Group, and Josef K albeit in the vein of contemporary techno. Autumns would appeal to fans of Silent Servant, Broken English Club, AN-I, Regis, and DKA’s own Celldöd.

The second compilation in the DKA Tape Programme series features twenty artists making waves in the industrial, goth, acid/house, techno, and minimal synth underground, with artists from all over the world creating death disco dirges, acid bangers, and forlorn post-punk anthems. Vol. 2 sees the return of DKA stalwarts Tannhäuser Gate, Autumns, Xander Harris, Karger Traum, and Passing, joined by several new (and new to DKA!) acts that have quickly become a part of the always expanding DKA family. Several of these artists have played in Atlanta and blown away the people behind DKA and we wanted to introduce them to you, our faithful listeners! Some of the musicians on this compilation have to date only self-released tapes while others have releases on the extended network of underground techno/industrial labels like Ascetic House, Pop Nihil, New Body, Tram Planet, and more. There is something for everyone looking to jack into the electronic body movement on this monster tape comp that clocks in at over an hour!

The second split release between Anticipation and Voice of Saturn on DKA. Anticipation is Chris Daresta also of Pyramid Club and Voice of Saturn is Travis Thatcher also of Space Saver and Personal Bandana. Travis and Chris have been friends for many years and plan to do a split release every couple of years to explore their solo projects. Sort of like old friends catching up via recording this split explores minimal instrumental techno. Taking inspiration from early Aphex Twin, Daniele Ciullini, Adonis, Sandwell District, Virgo, Silent Servant, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Pansonic, Manuel Göttsching, and Drokk both artists created eight tracks each of skeletal funk acid. Music for driving and coming down from a long night dancing. Noise mixed with dub and kraut influences. The sound of two friends communicating with analog equipment via email this release could have remained private but instead we present it for your pleasure.

DKA is proud to welcome CRT to the label. The solo project of one Michael Keenan (MPKJR), CRT is no stranger to the stages of Atlanta. MPKJR has been heavily involved in the Atlanta underground for well over a decade. CRT is Michael's foray into modular electronics that blends together a well-versed mix of Industrial, Techno, and EBM with echos of raw punk. Sparse dead pan vocals mix blown out kicks and angular metallic noise to create a harsh 80’s-tinted acid-drenched landscape . Skeletal funk ala Severed Heads or a smoked-out basement remix of Headhunter laced synth punk aggression with shades of Screamers (the video for “Blister Pack” paying homage to the Target Videos of yesteryear) blended with a few tragic vocal hooks a la Nervous Gender are tearing through the fog on this release. CRT emerged from Atlanta’s punk, noise rock and electro scenes through playing in bands like Electrosleep Int’l, Hawks, Airoes and Youth XL, unabashedly wearing the sonic influence of bands like Chrome, Six Finger Satellite, Rusted Shut and Brainbombs firmly on the sleeve.

DKA is very honored to be able to present, on vinyl for the first time, Black Rain's "Metal Rain" 1988-1993. This archival release captures the group at a time when it was experimenting with a more traditional 4-piece rock set up (drums/guitars/bass/vocals), although the results are anything but traditional. Interspersed with bits of scraping ambient and textural forays this is a record full of thrash and riffs and energy. While the palette is far removed from what fans might expect based on their more recent output, the core aesthetic ideas and principles that drive those tracks can still be heard throughout this wildly different format. The result is surprisingly varied and extremely dense and rewarding

DKA is proud to announce the debut cassette from Passing (AKA Christopher Myrick.) Passing hails from Los Angeles and has been active on the scene for the last couple of years. Myrick was initially a founding member of Bestial Mouths but left the group and started Passing as means of exploring a more minimal sound. After a brief stint as a duo, Myrick decided to make Passing a solo project. For his debut self-titled full length on DKA Myrick has submitted eleven tracks of pulsing EBM that manages to sound like the future-past of EBM and Industrial music. One could imagine this as the lost early demo recording of Skinny Puppy or Psyche but from a dystopian future twenty years from now. That’s what makes this recording so interesting: it conjures up DIY post-punk cassette culture harkening to lost tape classics of cold-wave like Trop Tard. At the same time, there is a definite hint of the chic, futuristic EBM sound of Phase Fatale or Silent Servant. However, it is Myrick’s vocals that really make this release standout from other contemporary EBM offerings. Passing has all the snarl and grit of Skinny Puppy on some songs yet can also drift into a more classic goth register. In some ways the vocals are reminiscent of Roz Williams of Christian Death on “Only Theatre of Pain,” showing a deeper, more emotionally vulnerable quality while other times sounding more like the staccato vocals of Cabaret Voltaire. DKA is proud to work with Passing and include him in our family. Passing first appeared on the DKA roster with “Sacrifice” on the Strategies Against the Body Vol. II and then a more recent appearance on DKA Tape Programme Vol. II with “6122-2”.

Passing "Abaddon"

Stockholm's machine-maniac Celldöd (real name Anders Karlsson) has been active in various punk and electronic outfits since the late 90's and now lands on DKA for his second full-length album (and first for the label), Fragmenterade Minnen. Karlsson's prolific solo project has released numerous cassettes and 12"s in addition to his debut LP on Suction Records in 2015, as well as the Brutal Disciplin of his Vargdöd (Varg + Celldöd) collaboration. 

Fans of Karlssons previous efforts will find lots to enjoy here, as he explores the ideas, textures, and ryhthms of the Celldöd sound over 10 tracks of Liasons Dangerous-esque industrial funk with flares of body music and techno. Karlsson's ability to make such a heavy sound bounce and swing is what gives these tracks the ability to light up even the coldest dance floors. The performances captured are raw and inspired and the feeling transfers directly to the listener as your body slowly starts to move in unison with the beat.

Sally Dige is a multidisciplinary artist known for her darkly poetic yet highly danceable electro-pop songs, DIY stylistic videos, design and visual art. 
Sally‘s deep and commanding voice, coupled with her analogue-visual-processes and overlapping artistic mediums has formed an identity that oscillates between the edges of aggression and fragility, old and new. 

Holding On was created during the time of intense inner turmoil. Despite being stretched to her emotional limits, Sally did not let the weight of her circumstances break her, instead channeling all of her pain and fears into the production of a series of incredibly powerful songs. 
Stunningly, Sally used only her voice and a single synth to create this album. Even with so little gear, the songs are anything but minimal. Each song has a minimum of 100 tracks and, for some songs, 100 tracks for just the drum section alone. Every audible sound has 20 other sounds swimming beneath it. 
These are songs written for dance floors but are sung about loneliness, death and the meaninglessness of existence. Sally‘s work tows the line between a blissful innocence and a heavy darkness. Think Gina X flavored post punk-disco rubbing against Twitch-era Ministry‘s lost Sade collab or Enya on LSD after a break up.
