NYC-based Jonathan Lundquist, known as IT-XPO, is a Delayed regular for a good reason. The Chicago native never disappoints, regularly putting out exceptional DJ mixes, an impressive amount of live mixes that are somehow always full of fresh material, and of course his releases. 

Today we feature Lundquist’s second mix on Delayed, this time with an hour and a half of dance floor-oriented music. The most distinct characteristic of IT-XPO’s music is its dedication to emotion without compromising on unrelenting grooviness. This mix is no different. Opening on a “high” note with Lawrence’s Oolong High, and sustaining the energy throughout the 90 minutes, this mix will have you locked in and unwittingly swaying nonstop. The first hour is house à la Mr. G, before shifting to higher energy with hypnotic basslines and melody mania. 

IT-XPO has been and will keep putting out beautiful electronic music for years, and we are extremely happy to be able to support such an incredibly passionate who also just so happens to be our neighbor.

Delayed With… IT-XPO

Alexandra Onofrei known as Lexia Majora is a Romanian DJ based in Exeter UK, where she’s also doing her PhD (at the University of Exeter). Her research looks at the rominimal community and the rominimal genre, exploring questions of identity in this group. As a DJ, Lexia Majora played warm up sets for artists such as Daniel Avery, Mall Grab and Peach. She enjoys playing hard groove and Berlin techno, but also rominimal as this helps her to stay connected to her Romanian roots.

This mix contains some of Lexia Majora’s favourite rominimal tunes, and explores her love for wonky sounds as well as jazzy grooves and classical music.

some might remember him as a member of the Regelbau collective.

For the 113th entry in the Honcho Podcast Series, we have a special recording from one of Honcho's founders. In September 2022, Clark had the privilege of playing the Grove at Sustain Release, a yearly festival held in upstate New York.  Fresh off of Honcho Campout, the beautiful stage tucked away in the woods felt like home. Check out this two hour set of moody, atmosphere techno and jacking house.

Dutchman Kennedy (@kennedyams) is a mainstay of Amsterdam's underground. He's worked in record shops, hosted radio shows, thrown his own parties and played the city's best venues as well as further afield at places like About Blank, Tresor and Griessmuehle in Berlin. In the studio, he aims to translate his dreams into music using an array of machines. His grooves dance in the middle ground between soul, techno, house and jazz, with nods to the atmospheres of Detroit and the rhythms of Africa. He serves them up on his own Dream Machine Recordings and most recently collaborated with Amsterdam jazz veteran Han Litz on his latest 12". It brought a fresh dimension to his always cultured music and with this week's mix, he proves that as a DJ he is no less considered in what he does. 

It is a selection of serene hi-tech soul powered by dynamic drums and overlaid with lush chord work. There is plenty of rough-edged analog jack, wonky acid and deep and dusty techno in the first half before a party breaks out with loved-up disco. A slow descent into more dark and trippy sound worlds closes down a mix that has the haziness of a half-remembered dream you wish you could return to.

Sundays are for... [May/24]

Number 15 of our OYE Podcast Series is coming from Willem aka Rasval, who recorded a vinyl only mix under his new alias ‚Willem‘, which focuses more into House and Dub-House and will be a platform for his musical outcome in these genres. 
  
Grown up in a little town in the middle of Mecklenburg Pomerania, William has been socialized in his teen age by several surrounded electronic music events. After moving to Berlin for his audio engineering studies, he started his musical DJ and live-act project Rasval in the beginning of 2019 to focus on the deeper and classical side of Techno and House - mostly inspired by the sound of Detroit, UK and Dub. 

An international tour schedule has since followed, including stops and appearances at prestigious venues and events, including Tresor Berlin, Modular Cape Town, Video Club Bogota, Toytoy at And Club Johannesburg, Griessmuehle Berlin, Institut fuer Zukunft Leipzig as well as Good2U Festival, Feel Festival and many more. 

Nebelgelb’, the first EP of his collaborations with label partner Ones. which includes remixes by .VRIL & Sleeparchive, kickstarted their own Hardwax-distributed imprint TMN TRAX itself. During the studio work with him they most recently found the live-project Current Location with which they have their debut release on the Robert Johnson’s 25 years birthday compilation Lifesaver 5 in August 2024 among artists such as Gerd Janson, Mano Le Tough, Massimiliano Pagliara & Cinthie.

it's crazy to be in probably the only country in the world that is partying full on right now. i don't think i ever played this much at home. 

now weekend of 5 gigs makes you go deep into your crates and folders. this is the opening of the night at opium club on August 14 2020. lots of music here from some 4-5 years back, a territory that is somehow usually forgotten. lots of these tracks appeared in old mixes, but it felt good playing them out again. have a ride.
