The Rotterdam-based label and agency On Board Music proudly marks its 10-year anniversary with a carefully curated compilation of likeminded artists. This milestone release showcases those who have shaped the label's sound and identity, while also setting the tone for the years to come. On Board 10 features nine tracks on vinyl, complemented by five exclusive digital bonus tracks.

The collection traverses a diverse spectrum: from the immersive depths of Altinbas' atmospheric journey Submersion to the intricate, rhythmic craftsmanship of Polygonia's drum-workout Broken Temptation, and from GiGi FM's ethereal dub-techno exploration Maova and Dorisburg's percussive, Nordic-techno gem Sensorik. The release blends introspective meditativeness with dancefloor-ready energy - a balance between home listening and club environments. It's atmospheric, trippy, dubby, broken, ambient, techno - all the sounds that define the essence On Board Music.

Polygonia - Broken Temptation

Lens of Time’ builds its pulse from unconventional percussive patterns, weaving together organic textures with GiGi FM’s ethereal vocals. As she explains, “We drew on traditional Thai instruments from the studio, blending them with live recordings of my voice—both for singing and percussive elements. Poetry added another layer, grounding the track with an emotional, almost narrative dimension.”

As GiGi FM reflects, “Our work together became about tapping into something much bigger than ourselves—this grand, cosmic interconnectedness. Time, for us, wasn’t linear—it felt collective and expansive, a thread connecting our experiences, traumas, and creative visions.”

On the latest instalment of his VALA series, Finnish techno explorer Kaspiann tunnels into heads-down, mind-warping rhythm tracks of the highest order. Alongside his appearance on respected platforms such as Delsin Mantis and Optic Portal (alongside Spekki Webu), VALA affords Kaspiann the space to explore the depth and breadth of his sound with steely focus. The four tracks on VALA 4 are teeming with tactile textures and intricate detail that feel familiar and abstract all at once, perhaps best described by the titles that indulge in a little Finnish word play. 'Sammalkämmen', literally translated as 'moss palm', feels like a fitting reflection of the spongy mid-range matter on the opening track, while the humid, dense atmosphere of B1 cut 'Suohunaja' could indeed conjure a sense of 'swamp honey'. From 'Sienikieli's tunnelling rhythmic intrigue to the intricately arranged, expressive percussion of 'Niin Vain', Kaspiann continues to broaden his vocabulary within the language of deep techno, triggering ineffable sensations from carefully sculpted sonic forms and strapping them to incisive rhythms.

His signature sound—deep, full of humor, and truly one of a kind—always offers something new with every listen. His music consistently takes you on a fresh and enjoyable sonic journey. The remix he contributed to this EP is also beautifully crafted, so I hope you’ll check it out.

As always, I’ve named my tracks after flowers and plants, but this time I focused on plants that bear fruit. The EP features three tracks inspired by this theme. Recently, I’ve been particularly focused on sampling live sounds, and whenever their original frequencies naturally blend well with other elements, I try to preserve them as they are. The track Strawberry is a minimal piece built using these carefully selected sounds.
