I had a lovely time joining DJ Voices & Beta Librae for their double residency this past November! Here's my set from the night. 

I love the big bass, but I also wanted to weave in some silliness and surprises. The whole night will always be a fond memory for me. Thanks to Kristin and Bailey for taking such good care of me.

Secret Handshake is the DJ duo composed of Nile Ashton and Lady Lavender.
In 2019, they launched their collaborative project as an event series, merging their love for dance, visual art, and forward-thinking electronic music. Over the years it has evolved to continue pushing the envelope of the New Orleans underground: faster, heavier, and uncompromising in their selections.

The duo's immersive club experiences all come with a unifying mission: to captivate the new generation of club goers and electronic music lovers. Since 2019, Secret Handshake has produced events with world-renowned artists such as X-Coast, Bianca Oblivion, Martyn Bootyspoon, and more.

a kaleidoscopic mix from dual monitor who zone in on the beauty of percussion, sound design and hypnotic loops, ebbing and flowing through their love for the low end whilst bringing in elements of deep textural techno. 

dual monitor is the alias of fliss mayo and zebb dempster - djs and producers based in liverpool and bristol. the duo was formed back in 2023 and in these two years, they’ve released on the likes of cloudcore, nehza records, rinse, spe:c, obligated, amity and ec2a. such a prolific output that rinse named them ‘the uk genre alchemists’ and rightly so. we’re super excited to welcome them on the 909 series this week! delve more into their foundations, influences, story so far and recent obsessions in the interview below : )

Akua has been at the forefront of a new generation of techno connoisseurs that expertly channel the timeless energy of 90s and early 2000s into their artistry. The Ghanaian-American DJ first established herself in the influential New York underground techno world and moved to Berlin in 2023. Akua’s sets are refreshing and inspire audiences to remember the true essence of techno. Enjoy!

There are few names as widely loved in clubland as Bristol-based producer Omar McCutcheon, AKA Batu.

His label Timedance, currently celebrating its ten-year anniversary, has been instrumental in shaping a certain corner of contemporary electronic music. It champions a mutant, rhythmic, UK-flavoured sound that escapes any obvious genre touchstones, as well as spotlighting the careers of artists like Verraco, Ploy and Hodge who push musical and cultural boundaries.

In this Exchange, McCutcheon sat down with Resident Advisor's editor, Gabriel Szatan, in London to reflect on the label's Afrofuturist philosophy, its journey over the past decade and the sense of purpose and direction that have developed over time. He spoke about the impact that scenes beyond the UK—such as China, South Africa, Brazil and Mexico—have had on his productions and label curation, and how they offer fresh perspectives that contrast with Europe's sometimes overly nostalgic take on dance music. He also discussed finding positivity in a dark time, and music's enduring potential to inspire and connect.
