This is Part 2 of my Mystery of the Motherbeat series of DJ mixes. I’ve wanted to record this mix for a long time as a follow-up to my 2018 mix by the same name. Both are a fusion of styles used to build a psychedelic hypnotic soundscape for deep listening and personal synchronization with the heart of Motherbeat. No big hands in the air moments to speak of here, just deep mixing and some of the most beautiful records in my collection. Alex Kassian welcomed the first sunrise at Solar Village in 2023, and we can now listen back to his performance. He took Wonderers on a journey that started downtempo and slowly built his set out, marking a new direction for sunrise performances at our beloved venue.

For the last 7 years the Fast Forward Audio Series has been running, we have had the pleasure of presenting more than hundred different artists ranging with all from livesets, solo recordings and b2b sessions on it.
 It has been interesting to follow the journey of those artists from where they were then, and how their sound has evolved and influenced them and the scenes around.  

So for this 100th edition of the series we are very pleased to present yet another influential artist to you: TASHA

Tasha’s DJing style matches this textured background of her influences and has developed into a master-flow of form - weaving tunes together seamlessly from her bass informed home of the UK alongside four four techno forms born in Berlin and Detroit.  Her residency on Rinse FM Radio has been a backbone of Tasha’s approach as a DJ - expressing her appreciation for electronic music inviting guests in from all over the globe. 

 In 2016 Tasha launched the label Neighbourhood with Randomer, Cadans, Kamikaze Space Programme, Metrist and Forest Drive West all featuring to date, and the latest edition of the V/A compilation HIVE series has just released its third edition last month. 

In an industry where artists are asked to prioritise their art for social media presence, likes and other vacuous pursuits, Tasha is very much in demand for her ‘music first’ attitude, selection and ability.
A refreshing outlook and positive future awaits the DJ, producer, promoter and label owner.

Dikka - Limitation EP (Incl. DAMNC & Dan Goul Remix) [ZFD025]

"Boca Na Água" emerges as a connecting point between Brazilian culture and the current electronic music scene. The track, already tested on major stages such as Ritual Stage at Surreal Park, B.O.M.A, Colmeia at Green Valley, Tetto Rooftop, and others, features excerpts from the iconic Rita Lee, a figure who transformed Brazilian music since the late 1970s.

The vocals, rescued from "Mania de Você" (1979), bear the mark of a time when Rita expanded her aesthetic, approaching pop and disco, without abandoning the boldness that made her famous. By inserting it into an electronic context, the production not only pays homage but also reopens this gesture of rupture and freedom.

The result is a track that escapes predictability: Brazilian in essence, global in reach. "Boca Na Água" asserts itself as a work that doesn't repeat formulas, but rather clearly weaves memory and the present.
