Intercept welcomes Tsepoback to the label after 2020's debut EP 'Twee' with a club-focused effort. 'Must Finish / Perc Track' is the result of a creative search where funand playfulness have been the main thread throughout the process of Jan's work.Being the closer of this period, the tracks are no-nonsense and technical, whilstremaining light hearted enough for easy listening. It's a difficult balance to strike, butTsepo does it with charm. We're happy to have him back on the label with thisimpressive two-tracker.

LNS and DJ Sotofett return to Tresor Records with The Reformer EP. This new record moves forward with a crystal clear, direct and controlled output, leaving their debut album "Sputters" as an end-mark of a sonic era. Here they evolve into a topography full of contrasts, where harsh digital artefacts, scanner sounds, and vocoder voices cast melodic colors across cold landscapes of club-ready electro. 

"Reform" plunges deep into an electro sound splintered by binary bits and submerged pads that beckon a serene melody, which echoes and loops to entangle with mutant voices, noises and buzzes. "Plexistorm" leads with synthesized strings and arpeggiated acidic bleeps until a thick bass emerges, sounding almost like a long-lost Analord record. Heavily shapeshifting with effects processing, it proves primitive movements in dubbing are the perfect counterpart to this precise electro sound. With "Electric Terraforming", the duo uncover charged energy sources required for life on another planet, as broad synth pads and memorable vocoder harmonies draw this earworm to a close. Mighty washes of dub rule on "909 The Controller" as a skipping beat invites a slow, rippling melody and percolating reverberated synths. 

The vinyl record has significantly different sonics to the digital release, and, exclusively, each side ends in a locked groove produced by DJ Sotofett.

Berlin-based maverick Stefan Goldmann returns after the exquisite and sonically spatial delights of his Vector Rituals album with two more upbeat tracks that nod to techno but nevertheless steadfastly refuse to follow its stricter rules. 'In Aggregate' and flip track 'Carob' both throb and surge their way to the run out groove, eschewing the usual array of drum sounds to leave the rhythmic urgency down to other elements and turning the genre's on its head. Which is, let's face it, what he does best.

“In this mix, I tried to find a nice middle ground between my old style and what I’ve been into lately. I’ve been moving away from four-on-the-floor rhythms and moving more towards broken patterns, but I wanted to throw in some bass infused, atmospheric and dreamy techno to tie it all together. Overall, the idea behind this mix was to go for a more clubby sound - energetic, percussive and hypnotic, but with some unexpected turns.”

Cooked up with a more melodic vibe and fusing elements of house and techno, Dense & Pika’s latest outing on Drumcode offers something different compared to their previous work. There is still that vintage feel to each of the tracks with analogue sounds and arrangements born and developed from experimental studio jams. Indeed, ‘Suki’ heavily utilizes the distinct harmonic tones of the Dave Smith Prophet 8 keyboard. While ‘Little Sun’ - A staple of D&P performances over the last three months - delivers a more classic Drumcode sound. ‘Lanky’ closes out the release with an infectious slab of wonderfully wonked-out raw funk.
