Needing very little introduction, our next guest is one of the most inspiring and talented artists in Naarm - and one of our close friends - Bex (@becarmstrongmusic). 

An artist in the truest sense of the word, Bex is a DJ, producer and visual artist. She is the founder of the online platform Space Cast (@spacecast-melbourne) - a project which facilities an art and music exchange that supports local artists financially through the sale of print. She's also the co-founder of the Spincycle parties alongside Robbie (@terrytec), and Send/Return with Hannah D (@hld) which showcases two djs playing back-to-back, all night long.

We're so grateful to put out this mix, which sees Bec channel psychedelic moods while maintaining a tough, tekky vibe which is synonymous with her sound.

We like Ezio alot. In fact, everyone likes Ezio a lot - even Donato Dozzy, who chose to feature Ezio & his partner Hamish's (together they are Neotex) tune "Iridescence" within his closing set at Labyrinth Festival in 2023. Hallowed turf indeed. So, we definitely take great pleasure in featuring his first submission to the Doof Spawn.

We go on an excursion with Dr. Nishimura towards the edges of deep techno, crossing a slow-motion storm of tribal drums and lush synth pads. Dr. Nishimura is an absolute master at his craft, whether handling italo cosmic cuts, breakbeat rollers or Japanese city pop. With more than 20 years under his belt as an expert buyer, notably for the late Cisco record stores (Tokyo), he currently runs Sunline Records (http://sunlinerecords.jp), an online store full of hand-picked wax beauties. Together with @Compuma and Awano, he is one-third of Akuma no Numa ("The Devil's Swamp": check https://soundcloud.com/compuma/akuma-no-numa-at-contact-tokyo-on-november-1-2019), an acclaimed DJ super-act specializing in "sound tectonics", or in other words, the finest slo-mo psychedelia around. The first hour is by Dr. Nishimura, the second hour is some more crawling leftfield favorites by me.
