Featuring the incredibly talented Antioch-based UP NEXT CREW, this song is a prime example of what the late, great Nina Simone felt was the definition of an artist’s identity: A reflection of the times. It is free for download, but you may also donate however much money you would like. TODAY on bandcamp day (06/05/2020), I will forward 100% of that donation to one of a handful of different organization fundraisers for the bail of black prisoners, the fight for more just legal defense for black ppl, preventing voter suppression, n black LGBTQ leaders. In days following, I will donate the money made after revenue shares have been collected. The list of orgs to choose from is in the song description on bandcamp. DM me your bandcamp receipt (n the preferred org that you’d like me to donate to, if you have one) n I will DM you the donation receipt to that org.

As a mixed white/non-black POC who not only grew up immersed in the rich n vibrant black culture of Oakland/the Bay Area, but also was able to find my passion n voice through it, I am wholly indebted to it. To all the black musicians, poets, visual artists, etc. whose work helped guide me to uncovering my own identity. I would not be the person a lot of y’all know if it weren’t for them, n I know for a fact that so many of y’all reading this can relate. It’s only right that I share what I have learned/my blessings n give back to the black community with the tools I have been given BY them. At the very least, it’s my duty n the duty of those who love black culture to give back when n where possible; To show genuine love n gratitude to all of my black brothers n sisters. To use my voice as a white/non-black POC to fight against injustice whenever and wherever it occurs. Let’s continue to play to our strengths, fight for true justice n equity, n inspire others to do the same. Wun love.

Toronto native Harper Gordon grew up in a musical family where genre saw no bounds. Inspired by the Soul, Jazz and Rock music played around his house, Harper’s musical palette blossomed into the genre defying expression found in his first @oasismusiclibrary pack.

Floors consists of Vintage 1890s Piano, Rusted 70s Hohner Pianet, Upright bass, Trumpet, Drums, Roland Juno, and more - Not a single VST was used in the making of this pack. (8 Compositions w/ option to include stems)

Mixed by @nikobeats using analog 1073s and 542s summed through his SSL Sigma.
