This is a 'donk' track I made in Cubase for a youth music project for young people to rap over, they didn't like it because it was too 'fuzzy', which falls outside the rules of donk apparently! I think it came out alright though.

This is a recording of DC3, an experimental jazz/folk trio.  I recorded it live in a small rehearsal room in a garage (!) with band members in each corner of the room with mics facing away from each other to avoid excessive spill.  Recorded and mixed in Cubase

Deep Cabaret 3 - Toast

This is a track I produced for singer-songwriter Daniel Ray at Kendal College's studio.  I was going for a commercial sounding mainstream rock sound and worked with Dan to refine the arrangement to make it as interesting and direct as possible. Recorded and mixed in Pro-Tools

Daniel Ray - Here Comes The Light

Here's a track I produced for Daniel Ray at Kendal College's studio.  I wanted a rawer rock sound for this song which was best achieved with just two rhythm guitars.  I also bolstered the recorded snare with a deeper snare sample, lined up exactly to the original snare's wave forms, to give it more power.  I also edited the backing vocals by syllable to match the lead vocal exactly, which it hadn't done in the original bv recording.

Daniel Ray - Razor Boy

Here's my mix of a song that I wrote with Jahn Teetsov, Michal Rogola and Jon Dawes.  We recorded it in the Kendal College studio. We spent alot of time working on the arrangement of this song, which was very helpful when we got into the studio as we knew exactly what we wanted to achieve.  I wanted a very light sound for this song and aimed to make the drums very gentle in the mix.  Recorded and mixed in Pro-Tools.

I produced this at Kendal College's studio, recording into Pro-Tools and mixing in Cubase.  The lead guitar track is a comp of multiple takes, which took ages!  As with all of Dan's stuff which I've recorded, I worked with him to develop the arrangement and create dynamics within the song, this was originally a much faster rock tune which I made much slower and atmospheric, which I think suits the song a lot better

This is my preferred mix of a recent Deep Cabaret 3 song I produced, the version the band preferred had less reverb and the low hurdy-gurdy bass drone was toned down a bit.  I like this version as I think it has more atmosphere and has more of a dark feel to it.
