I just want to make something clear. I am not taking a jab at drug addiction or depression in this song. I know both of those all too well. This is a jab at the rappers/artists that promote and glorify drug use and addiction. How long are we going to act like this is a normal thing? How many people have to die? I believe mainstream hip-hop is one of the main reasons drug addiction among the youth is even a thing. And I know that from personal experience. I honestly wouldn't even know about half of these drugs if it wasn't for some of these rappers lyrics. These lyrics are getting into the subconscious mind of the people who listen to it wether you realize it or not. Influencing negative behavior especially among young people. I am not knocking anyone who listens to it. That is your choice and that's completely fine with me. But I will not stay silent about it.
