To think, I went back to pick up my assignment
Why did God find it fit to let me escape this?
But I’ve told you one fib; can you locate it?

And proceed to break it down, like liquor would do to livers 
Now nigga, give me a mic, ink pen and a minute 
In a sentence, opposing sentiments will all be diminished 
If you attempt to enlighten, first make note of your ignorance 
It’s my own revelation in genesis, 
Beginning with soul, a lil prose, dreams of platinum and gold 
With a flow so dope, it’ll leave you tapping your nose, and wanting more

I remember when I could barely form a couplet 
I was lucky if I could even get a sentence out in public 
But I loved it, and grandma said, “they cant tell you nothing, 
Keep trucking, ‘cause dreams, baby, they don’t have instructions” 
So I wasn’t bout to quit, or be giving in, Donovan Livingston 
LIV(E), did it to death, but through the music, he’ll live again 
Envision a leader, teacher, son of a preacher, 
Heavy drinker, yeah, formerly addicted to reefer, 
But keep it real, a deeper thinker, yet a man of the people 
It’s not enough to be a star; I want yall to reach em, 
So come along, and leave behind your drama and baggage, see 
When you try to touch the sky, baby honesty’s gravity 
Had to be me, reach the masses when I speak these lines 
For the ones whose only “goals” stood 10 feet high 
Aimed for the “rim” but forget their “drive”, with their “eyes” on the stove 
Moving white, or outlined in the road, I bring it home 
Every song, I swear I be in a zone, 
So who knows?
