You know these tracks that get stuck in your head on a loop and you keep them or some of their parts playing on repeat.  Sometimes more than one is playing and you realize these sound good together so you blend them just like on decks. That’s how this mix was made up. Originally I wanted to follow UKG sound and see where it can take me. In the end it turned out to be a melting pot of various mostly UK sound. It was recorded to move the body.

Humanitarian Pauses & Corridors

My part of one of the first @audiovideobass mixcasts we recorded back in 2013. It nicely reflects that tension, when Romare and Machinedrum were releasing 160 bpm bangers, DJ Rashad was rumored to be working on some rap superstar collabs, and juke had the potential to become the next big thing and possibly change rap in ways unforseen. Few months later DJ Rashad died after drug overdose and none of that happened.

Ten years on I still consider this to be probably the best mix I have ever recorded or played. On my last visit to Ostrava, I discovered the recording on my old PC. As @audiovideobass celebrates ten years of existence this year, I thought it might be worth sharing.
