Madeline is the author of the story collection Les filles dels altres. Her
work has appeared, or is forthcoming, in El Món d’Ahir, de/rail, RIC Journal, The Sultan’s Seal, The Momentist, Southword, Full Stop, and elsewhere. Carey has been the recipient of awards and fellowships from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference,the Edward Albee Foundation, Faber Residency, Hawthornden Castle, Greywood
Arts, and Ventspils House. Carey teaches writing workshops at the Irish Writers Centre as well as privately.

A Day in the Life is a one-day conference presented by Children’s Books Ireland in partnership with dlr Libraries at dlr LexIcon, Dún Laoghaire, to celebrate the ﬁnal appearance 
of Pictiúr, the exhibition of 21 contemporary Irish children’s illustrators that has toured both Europe and Ireland. 
Eoin Colfer is Ireland’s third Laureate na nÓg. Children’s Books Ireland’s mission is to make books a part of every child’s life, and this day of talks about all aspects of children’s books aims to excite, inspire and inform delegates about the ways in which we can all work towards making that mission a reality.
