First up, SECRET SOULS load up a brilliant minimal affair with very high production standards; depth of sound is key here, which keeps your mind locked as the song rolls forward. MALIK FAQUIR is next up with his intense rework, almost industrial in build and delivering a stompingly dangerous force. ATJAZZ Completes the project with a retro-esq sound, layering modular synths with his usual melodic blips and buzzes, creating an uplifting spacey vibe throughout.

Up next on Brooklyn’s Scissor & Thread is the latest EP from @Snad, aka Shyam Anand (also known as Spandrel), the Berlin-based artist whose discography already spans labels like Smallville, Minibar, 20:20 Vision, Phonica AM, TerraFirm, Running Back, Cabinet, Kimochi and Dungeon Meat with remixes for names including Seafoam and Chez Damier. 

A trusted selector and producer in the underground, Snad has steadily built a reputation for deeply considered productions that balance classic inspiration with his own forward-thinking edge.

The AM Yard EP opens with its title track, a warm, hazy cut rooted in the kind of bassline architecture that recalls Chez n Trent’s Morning Factory but reshaped with Snad’s signature dreamlike touch. 

Anticip8 fanchors the release with a more direct energy, rolling, insistent and focused on the floor, balancing stripped-down drive of dusty samples wrung through his digitakt with just enough harmonic flourish to pull the listener inward. 

On the flip, The Pursuit follows in a slightly different mode, drawing on experimental vocoder techniques and filtered percussion creating a hypnotic push-and-pull that feels as intricate as it is understated.

Rounding things out, label heads Francis Harris and Anthony Collins, under their Frank & Tony alias, reimagine The Pursuit with their Housebeat Remix, extending its atmospherics into an even deeper headspace that glides effortlessly into late-night territory.

Satellite Groove

After two successful originals with support from Cioz, Floyd Lavine, Fairchild, Marsh, STAB Virus, Lady M, Kyle Watson and Strange Loving, Ambious founders MKLY & Sides asked some of the local scene's most prolific artists for their own interpretation of either one of the tracks. 'Avi Subban kicks things off with a fresh perspective on Dxgma, stripping the multi-faceted original down to it's core before building it back up with bounce, swing and some isolated, organic percussion. With another rendition of the same track, Deep Aztec wastes no time taking us as deep as the original did. An offbeat kick sequence, raw signal-synth melody and real-hand claps - just another example of his constant battle against the status quo. Third on the list, Cadenza turns the entire EP on its head with an uplifting, progressive take on Konvoy - one that oozes emotion. DR. 1MORE follows this up with a solid dose of groovy baseline stabs that make their way through the track. Accompany this with some ambient tones and you've got the perfect dance floor opener. Closing out the EP with another remix of Konvoy, HouseHold Funk layers a dark, sustained baseline with natural keys and strings, leaving us with wide open spaces and a beautiful play on the original's melody.'
