Here's the recording of an ambient set I had the pleasure to play at Harvest Festival 2022 this fall. The gathering took place in a beautiful pine forest in Ontario and has been happening for over 20 years now.  

I would describe this set as Yin energy, a place where the rhythms are less dominant, which allows the storytelling to be experienced in a more calm environnement. It’s one of the most fulfilling moments that I felt in my music journey this year. 

In the sometimes chaotic and noisy world we live in, it feels somehow very healthy and natural to connect with these frequencies that are rooted, zen, earthy yet cosmic. A sonic safe space in which we can be present and breathe. 

Like my yoga teacher would say:  may the benefit of this session be shared with all beings in the world.

  I want to acknowledge the recording of this set was done in Burk’s Falls Ontario, on aboriginal land that has been inhabited by Indigenous peoples from the beginning. In particular, we acknowledge the Anishinaabeg territory.

Super grateful for all the amazing artists, musicians and composers who created the songs I got to play in this mix. I also really enjoyed meeting Andrew Interchill during that weekend and discovering his amazing ambient performance on the same night.

Wide soundscapes, nostalgic pads, heavy chords, rich textures and fragile plucked melodies, pull us to the deepest and darkest before bringing us back to the light. That’s the transformation path that Dive want to take us across all tracks. Dive, the album title, as a metaphor about leaving the surface and falling into the deepest emotions, face the unknown and therefor be forced to grow.

After his self-tittled and self-released debut album in 2019, a mixture of ambient, electronic and post rock, on this new album João Pedro Nogueira wanted to take on a new direction and focused only on ambient and electronic.

For the most of the sounds vintage analog synths were used.

För alltid' is an album about time. The fuzzy & shapeless memories floating without coherence. Shortwave radio recordings picking up unbroken codes from the past. Hopeful voices whispering about a possible future from a hopeless now.

Marking the one-year anniversary of his debut album, Jack Watkins reimagines Wonderland as a collection of solo piano pieces. Sketches from Wonderland strips away the technicolour layers of the originals to reveal their raw beginnings — songs that started life at the piano, now returned to their most intimate form. Some stay true, others become entirely new, but together they offer a tender reflection on the music’s heart and soul.

Sebastian Kline's latest work, "Leap" is a delicate and serene piece that uses piano and string instruments to invite the listener on a journey of introspection and tranquility.

Beginning as quietly as a gentle touch on a calm water surface, the melodies woven by the piano and strings possess a subtle yet profound ability to awaken deep emotions.

They explore the rich world of feelings that exist in silence and the infinite landscapes painted by music.
The fleeting dialogue between the piano and strings makes one forget time, leaving a quiet resonance deep within the heart.

Leap

On the 21st of March 2014 we will be celebrating 5 years of Home Normal. It has been an incredible journey to get this far and we never could have reached it without the kind support of talented artists and all the wonderful people who have ever bought one of our releases or attended one of our shows.

In this modern digital age with its constant stream of information, we've sought to work as quietly as possible, firmly rooting our ethos that things can be released in a subtle, quiet way. 'Organic' has always been the key word, and we are so thankful that people seem to still appreciate the natural path we've chosen, ignoring all the noise that surrounds our chosen way.

To celebrate this great landmark for us, we will be releasing our 5th year compilation 'Elements'. With over 60 artists from our past, present and future involved, this five disc compilation will be raising money for 5 different charities which are close to our hearts. All profits from Elements Three (火) will be donated to ecoACTIVE which is an innovative environmental education charity with a reputation for using hands-on, practical and fun approaches to explore complex issues of sustainability.

Landfall

Inner Peace, World Peace. 24 X OM chants by Johann, overtone singing from Chis, who also weaves his bansuri flute around the OM's and over the atmospheric ambient pads (that includes a Tibetan monk synth :-)). We overdubbed a brief sound journey at the end. 

This was to be a central track for one of our main live yoga music projects, to chant with groups of people for inner transformation, for outer change.
