POWERTECH is a techno producer and DJ from a small town in the Kyiv region. A connoisseur of brutal dark sound. Skillfully playing with techno and its sub genres, he immerses in the flow, weaving metallic and hypnotic sound textures with an uncompromising bass rhythm.

𝙑𝙎𝙇𝙆: How was your first DJ gig?
𝙋𝙊𝙒𝙀𝙍𝙏𝙀𝘾𝙃: Despite the great excitement, my first gig went very well. It was scary just to start…But with each passing minute, confidence returned.

𝙑𝙎𝙇𝙆: How did you get into music and DJing?
𝙋𝙊𝙒𝙀𝙍𝙏𝙀𝘾𝙃: My first contact with music writing was back in 2019. My friend Oleksandr showed me a daw program for the first time. For me, it was a separate world where I could realize my creative ideas. At first, I watched him use plug-ins, effects, and rhythms. And then I started trying it myself. Later, I went to my first rave and realized that I liked techno. I got excited about the idea and started to delve deeper into this direction. Then I got my hands on an old controller, which I learned to play at the same time.

𝙑𝙎𝙇𝙆: What is your music about?
𝙋𝙊𝙒𝙀𝙍𝙏𝙀𝘾𝙃: My music now and my music before are two different stages of life. But both now and before, my music is connected with emotions, because if I feel the music on an emotional level while playing, then people on the dance floor feel it the same way.

𝙑𝙎𝙇𝙆: How do you experience the Electronic Music Scene in Kyiv?
𝙋𝙊𝙒𝙀𝙍𝙏𝙀𝘾𝙃: First of all, I am pleased with the great progress of our scene, even looking at the conditions in which we live now. There are many artists who inspire with their professionalism and skill, events that I want to return to both as a guest and an artist. But, to be honest, here, as in all spheres of life, there is competition, both healthy and not so healthy, because for many it is business, profit and money, and there is no point in condemning it, because everyone is fighting for their place in the sun. The main thing is not to get lost in all this, but to listen to your heart and follow its call.

𝙑𝙎𝙇𝙆: What’s your main goal for the year?
𝙋𝙊𝙒𝙀𝙍𝙏𝙀𝘾𝙃: This year, I'm devoting more of myself to music, and in particular to writing. I'm trying a new sound for myself.

The third release on Quintessence is the debut single by @yaroslavikonnikov, a promo resident who has recently immersed himself in producing.

Musically, the track Unpacked Karma is inspired by the aesthetics of low-tech, hypnotic and trance. Dense palisade bass, analog modulations, dreamy arpeggios and non-standard percussion pattern — that's the sound on our agenda.

"For me, it's the soundtrack of an inner, deep journey. Sometimes it feels like an endless and pointless running in circles, but it's not. Each new entry is getting rid of excess and pretense, from all this bug—eyed fuss that prevents our mighty spiritual principle from manifesting."
