This is a brilliant concept! I love it.  couple of technical Items that I would consider:

1) the percussion has a bit of strange sound to it, like it's in a small space, So I'm wondering if you put a little reverb over the percussion. I would not put reverb on this kick, and dial down the reverb on the other elements. 

2) I would EQ out the bottom end of the vocal, meaning pull everything out that's below, say 500 hz. this will kill the bass line of the original track. This will make the kick pop out more and give it more of a remix feel, instead of a mash-up feel.  if you want the original bassline in the track, then duplicate the vocal and EQ out everything but the bass, say every thing above 200hz, then compare that with the kick to make sure its sitting right. 

3) I would chop up the vocal a bit. 

This is a great idea, I'd like to see it developed out into something around 4-6 min.  Nice work.
