After dropping Prog House rollers from Baldo and Youandewan or 4/4 Techno flavoured cuts from Lady Blacktronika and Elisa Bee, Step Recordings is about to release something more soulful and closer to original House music. The man behind this is Danny B, a Spanish producer heavily inspired by masters like Frankie Knuckles, ‪Larry Heard‬ and Kerry Chandler. His 'Find Myself' EP is a collection of 4 original tracks, a masterfully crafted mix of acidy basslines, broken beats, warm pads and dub flavoured stabs, the perfect combination of elements for dancefloor fillers. PREMIERE: Cartin — U Got My Number (Original Mix)

The second instalment on Swung Out Records, 'I Wanna Love You' EP, comes via long-time collaborators - Theon Bower and Takao.

Recorded in their studio in South London, the EP draws from 90s rave culture, with the title track 'I Wanna Love You' featuring acid-inspired bass lines and 909 elements, while 'Bottle Action' features a hypnotising arpeggiated synth over a stripped back percussion track.

The glow of the evening hung hazily in the air. As he stared out through the windscreen into the vast nothingness before him he pondered how it had all come to this. Here and now there was little left but the gracious automobile inside which he sat. Soon he would drive forwards towards the edge of the cliff face, hurtiling pacily the car would imploade upon impact with the ground leaving nothing but the trace of a life lost and an empty metallic shell. It would be beautiful. 

Tiga continues to release progressive, driven music on Turbo. However, having recently launched the sub label Twin Turbo he has attempted to explore the darker, aggressive undertones of dance music in more depth. Up next on the label is Jordan, a key player amongst Northern Ireland's burgeoning techno scene.
