Unexpected Items, fire off their first show of the year. In the first hour, Cat Curl, previously seen on mixes for I Love Acid and for WGD Maestro Placid, lets us in on her vast vinyl collection of acid, Detroit techno and fresh prog.

In the 2nd hour, Manchester based DJ/producer Kalani taps into the deeper side of his collection, containing a healthy selection of breakbeats, house, a touch of ambient and a few more dance-floor oriented tracks thrown in for good measure. Alongside producing and djing, he is a resident and co-runner of the Manchester collective LIGHTSPEED who have been making a name for themselves over the last two years by hosting epic parties around the city

Spanning 6 tracks; it masterfully traverses an exciting intergalactic sonic landscape. Aptly titled ‘Pictures Of Mood’, the EP conjures vivid imagery through evocative deep experimental introspection, soul enhancing optimism and eyes-closed dancefloor dreaming.

Today's featured guest, David Meyer, exemplifies this sentiment while being a skillful selector with a passion for disco, acid, trance, house, EBM, electro, and breaks. Additionally, he serves as the head of the mix series From The Vaults, extending invitations to both established and up-and-coming artists. for this voyage however R.E.D navigates through the gloopy ebbs and flows of the enchanting swamp; portraying sways of emotion but encouraging calm & grounding to ascend toward the glowing light.
