On the 20th December 2015, D-Malice recieved news from Angola that DM.Recordings family member Eddhi Cheq had passed away. Eddhi had been ill for a number of weeks and was in and out of hospital, keeping in contact with D, he had come out of hospital and all seem to be well, his health was progressing and he was working on material for 2016. 
He messaged D-Malice "feeling stronger, working on new material for 2016 brother D" which was a good sign for him and us as it meant his health was on the up AND more music from Eddhi! 

We at DM.Recordings are truly heartbroken for losing a talented, dedicated young man who had a bright future ahead of him. Our thoughts are with Eddhi's family.

DM.Recordings are proud to announce the return of Monocles with the second volume of his Township Vibe EP following the success of the initial release in March 2015. This time round the five track EP features eccentric afro sounds from 2Point1 and Tape as well as Monocles himself but also features the likes of Kay Tyler, Ntombi, Butana and Danzito. 

Monocles has demonstrated a great blend of soulful afro house with ‘You & I’ featuring Kay Tyler on the vocals which is has great charting potential but also is a song for the lovers. To contrast this, ‘Danzii Vibe’ is a deep tribal track with a township aura delivered to the listener but is nicely heightened with keys. 2Point1 brings a very nostalgic sound with the live cut of ‘Nga’Linda’ featuring seductive vocals from Ntombi; in addition to this he teams up with Tapes on ‘Wa Xitwa’ showing the depths of his productions. Lastly, Tapes also gets on the buttons and producers a floor-thumping afro-tech track alongside Butana called ‘Mme Rata Ntate’ meaning Father and Love.

In 2014, an anonymous individual capably managed to leave an unforgettable footprint in the sound systems of many international clubs with his debut release ‘Sleepless Nights’. DM.Recordings are very excited to announce the return of Corinda with ‘The Chase’ featuring the proficient wordsmith Lebo. 

'The Chase’ demonstrates the soulful side to Corinda through a slick display of the transcending expressive synths used to underline the hip-moving drums - composed alongside the spoken word of Lebo who tells the story to which many relate in the chase of something wanted so much. Alongside Corinda, we have Rudo Deep step up on production and give his very own interpretation of this chase that elevates all elements of afro-tech. This package is polished off with a heart-felt remix from the late Eddhi Cheq who really has gripped listeners with his Heartistic dub version and remix that has an ambient tone which focuses on the atmosphere created around this track. 

This EP will have you revisit the chasing feeling you had in 2014 when you were left wanting more - this is Corinda.

DJ Alpha known from Kazukuta Records and Spiluku aka G'Sparks who has released many hit songs, provide us this dance floor anthem 'Mapi Mu Mashikiyo' which is sure to cause a stir on dance floors across the globe. 

About DJ Alpha: 

Alpha has shown love and passion for the music from an early age. While as a teenager, Hip Hop and Techno were his day by day consumption, until he met Djeff Afrozila whom gave Alpha an introduction to the House genre....This was the turn on his life! 

As an artist, Alpha has shared the stage with names like Djeff Afrozila, Black Coffee, Manoo, and others. Besides playing in his home country Portugal, he has already had the privilege to play in England and Angola.

Nowadays, he’s dedicating himself to DJing and music production as well as managing Kazukuta Records alongside Djeff Afrozila, where he is responsible for mastering the label releases.

About Spilulu:

Originally from Lubumbashi / Katanga Democratic Republic of Congo, Spilulu , is famous for being a Hip-Hop, R&B and House beat maker.

In 2009 Mzilikazi Wa Afrika was looking for up and coming House producers found G’Sparks and Signed him to Bomba Record. After signing with Bomba Records Mzee turned G’Sparks as a Hip-Hop and R&b producer to a “Tribal-House beat Monster” and features him in his album Tamanini in wich G’Sparks produced 4 titles “Shukuma ft Phumeza Dlwati, Leo ndjo leo ft Alex Mutombo, Bushbuckridge Anthem and Laphindi E shangane” they formed The A-Team alongside Jaso Moke, Silly M, Sbonza, Morra Derey, Willie and Godheaven.” Their first appearance in Mzee’s video zvinosiririsa” wich was released in 2009 by Soulcandi records.

Spilulu produced Mukubwa, released by Offering Recordings, an intense afro rhythm track that has been supported by big names in the Industry such as Louie Vega, Black Coffee, Jerome Sydenham to name a few.. Quickly in the center of attention he multiplied the releases on other labels such as Arrecha, Nulu Records, Bomba, Peng Africa, and more.

Spill is the future of what the heart and center of Africa, the Congo is heading towards musically.

The name DJ Satelite and Cee ElAssaad are two of which has been mentioned consistently throughout the year and most certainly have made their mark on the Afro House scene with great releases. To add further to their catalogue, DM.Recordings are proud to present our forthcoming release and label debut from DJ Satelite and Cee ElAssaad with their single ‘If Only’ featuring Inami. 

These clever pair of producers have embedded their culture/nationality in their original by providing listeners with a full flavour of Angolan and Moroccan house music. This smooth, base-rich track is nicely heightened with tribal drums and slick vocals from Inami. 

To add to the original in creating a fuller package of music, our very own Jonny Miller is back with a dreamy spin on this track through his masterly keys. In addition to this, Jackson Brainwave provides even further depth with an edgy tech sound capturing his distinctively sharp kicks. Lastly, Caiiro wraps up the remixes with a well crafted afro-ridden remix that will speak straight to your feet given it orders to dance. 

This EP is set to do big things and take us into the last quarter of the year in high spirits. 

About DJ Satelite: 

DJ Satelite, a native of Luanda, started his career by raw, passionate curiosity and quickly became one of the main drivers of Afro House and Kuduro in many lusophone countries. After dedicating years on his own productions, in 2006 he achieved notoriety as one of the co-producers of the album Estado Maior do Kuduro dos Lambas. It is also known as the first album produced by a local artist and gained stellar reviews in Angola. In particular, the hit single, 'Se desfio' conquered the hearts of a huge fan base. Satelite's productions have been featured on the critically acclaimed film 'I Love Kuduro'. Satelite's journey has taken him to some of the biggest events and organizations, such as Red Bull Music Academy and the Ibiza International Music Summit. This year, he also got to show his live skills on Boiler Room, alongside Batida. DJ Satelite is an ambassador of the new Angolan sound and a pioneer of the African Electronic Music scene that burns dance floors all across the globe.

About Cee ElAssaad: 

Seasoned music lover and one of the most influent DJs and producers in the Moroccan house scene who’s adventure started in the early 2000’s. His passion grants to his musical universe an incredible depth and an unique style on the turntables. Cee ElAssaad has experienced a lot of success with his former track releases which include a collaboration with American soul singer Ama Chandra, that received great reception through a remix by the legendary DJ Spinna with ‘Mahboubti’.

When Sibusiso Mhlongo, famously known as DJ Merlon, released his album “Original Copy” in 2015, he described it as the red carpet to walk into the well-respected areas of the music industry. With the success of his album, “Reflections” has been renowned in South Africa as a solid hit simply for its strength in vocals from Khaya Mthethwa and dynamic instrumentals. In the process of making “Reflections”, Merlon was approached by the multi-award winning and most prominent electronic music producer, Black Coffee who offered to be apart of the track and add his signature Durban style. 

In celebration of DM.Recordings 50th release, this is a package that sends ‘Reflections’ through an international electronic journey showcasing the different calibre of house with multi-cultural influences. Revisiting the tasteful original mix from DJ Merlon and Black Coffee with such a distinct guitar riff, Khaya Mthethwa does an outstanding job on the vocals and seals the track with perfection. One of the best keep secrets in deep house is Radeckt but as he steps up to add his reflection on this remix, his name will be heavily researched. Radeckt brings up the tempo and with precision he converts non-believers of house music in displaying how this track can blow the roof of clubs. Following the great reception received from the original release last year, DM.Recordings are proud to present the remix package for ‘Tshamiseka’. This time around, we are honoured to have exclusive remixes from Sean Munnick, FKA Mash and Dwson - who represent on Kid Fonque’s Stay True Sounds label. 

Each producer has been a testimony to the definition of the word “diversity” with their take on this original track. To start we have Dwson who gets slighter deeper with his remix. This talented producer displays his creativity by adding electronic elements twined with snappy kicks that sit perfectly on the eardrums of listeners. 

Soweto’s very own FKA Mash takes us on a soulful journey but with great depth. In using light rhapsodic drum pads, he has cleverly heightened the beautiful vocals of the original version. 

In wrapping up such a heart-warming remix package, Sean Munnick steps up to shift the soulful vocals of Khensy to a breakbeat drum pattern layered with spacey synths and subtle shakers. A remix that can only be described as being created with dancers in mind.

After two years since his last solo release, the DM.Recordings head honcho, D-Malice is back with a statement release that marks his return. In the last two years, D-Malice has been far from absent in the underground music scene as seen through his successful remix of PAMLFooD's Mitende that came out earlier this year. 

Entitled 'Minesweeper', this track undeniably exhibits his musical talents in producing high energy sounds with character. Aggressive drops immersed in stems that are bound fill the dance floors of venues where played. We anticipate an EP to follow this from this afro-house veteran.
