Early in the morning,
with a cup of tea
the world feels slower,
waiting for a moment
I set free.

I wake in a hurry,
yet somehow still drifting,
as the day spills open
before I’m ready.

Thursday —
and I’m still spinning,
and all I want to do
is fall back
into sleep again.

Lipstick on a coffee cup,
a quiet trace
of the girl
trying to keep up
with a world
moving faster
than her breath.

Yet still
I rise,
soft and unfinished,
carrying the morning
on my skin.

I tie my hair,
fix my sleeves,
pretend the rush
is part of the plan.

But inside,
I’m slow,
gentle,
half-awake.

The hallway feels colder,
the mirror honest,
and the world outside
keeps spinning
like it never waits
for anyone.

Still,
I breathe in,
step out,
and let the day
find me
exactly as I am,
unpolished,
soft,
and trying.

The morning air
wraps around me,
cool and waking,
as if whispering,
“go gently…”

I move through the doorway,
half-dreaming still,
carrying traces
of who I was
an hour ago —
sleepy, quiet,
somewhere between
here and nowhere.

Maybe today
I don’t need
to be perfect.
Maybe it’s enough
to exist softly,
with my messy hair,
my tangled thoughts,
and that faint lipstick mark
left behind
on a coffee cup.

Maybe,
just maybe,
that’s where
my morning strength
begins.
