Originally from Germany but now based in Portugal, the up-and-comer caught our attention with recent heavyweight releases on Engage Audio, Transparent and Tesseract among others. Crystal Clear is back with a major bang! We are very proud to introduce the 'Fire In The Hole' EP.... four absolute heaters 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️.

These explosive tracks have been doing serious damage in our sets over the last 12 months. We've been getting a lot of requests for them, in particular, 'Temper' and 'Kung Fu Hustle' which really popped off during our set at Origin, Boomtown 2023.

'Fire In The Hole' sets the vibe right from the jump with eerie synth vibes, tough drums, serious bass pressure and gritty mids. "Burn it up like fire in the hole!"

Next up we have the monstrous 'Temper' and this one has a tendency to kick right off! Don't say we didn't warn you... "Baby's got a temper"

"My style is the best.... let's see what you're made of." The third track on the EP is 'Kung Fu Hustle' and this one has been shelling everywhere! Serious amounts of energy, a very catchy hook and a thunderous drop. "He's a cold blooded killer!"

Last but by no means least is 'Controll' and this one is absolutely naughty. A tense, moody atmosphere leads to stomping drums and undulating waves that carry you up and down on a sea of heavy bass.

Play anywhere and everywhere. LOUD!

Sam Binga and Rider Shafique return to Critical in their usual atypical style, smudging the lines between dancehall, hip-hop and US club music with three vocal-driven sonic killers.

‘Bamboo’ is pure dancehall, with a stabbing bashment rhythm ridden by a slack set of lyrics from Rider that would do Vybz Kartel proud.

Title track ‘Get Down Low’ calls on Cardiff rapper Magugu to elevate a moody lesson in club-ready 808s.

Finally, ‘Vendetta’ takes things fully West Coast, with Teklife producer Taso linking Binga on the beats and San Francisco’s MicahTron joining Rider on the mic.

Deep Within Recordings ignites their launch with a massive thirteen track compilation album, already setting a standard for the brand-new imprint in a way which many new labels won’t be able to match.

Pushing through only the most cutting edge up and comers from Austria, the UK and Luxembourg, this forthcoming album showcases exactly what this label has to offer the contemporary drum & bass scene.

Packed with hotly tipped names such as Hexa, Mofes, Kidsonic and Envy, three tracks featured have already seen support from the likes of Noisia via their radio show as well as a wide range of DJ spins, with the Deep Within Recordings sound already infecting club spaces throughout Europe.

Envy’s ‘Exile’ is the first track to take centre stage and it features sweeping levels of white noise which suddenly cuts out to leave you fully enveloped within its percussive segments. ‘Mars’ by Half Ace then rolls through with a more sci-fi inspired intro, one which develops into weighty levels of sub bass and tapping hi-hats. Hexa’s ‘Solitude’ brings through the more stripped back levels which he’s become well known for, without losing any of its desired impact. Then Jak’s ‘Apothic’ follows suit, just as cutting amongst its crashing drum sequences. Kidsonic’s ‘Gunman’ features an immersive soundscape, whilst ‘Orders’ from Master Error concentrates on its pumping kicks. ‘You’ll Never Know’ from M:FX continues the ruminating vibes, meanwhile Mofes ’Panthalassa’ features switches which keep you on edge. ‘Duplex’ from Nysn, Offline’s ‘Infamous’, Sedax’s ‘Subframe’ and ‘Trainride’ from collaborative duo Sequent & Skruff each hammer home the signature sound of Deep Within Recordings, whilst doing so with their own twists. Then finally, Teej & Division pull the LP to a close, with an amalgamation of driving drums and a bassline which takes you out into the murkier depths.

As a package, the first release from Deep Within Recordings lets you know what they’re about. With more scheduled for 2020, the imprint is looking to quickly elevate itself to a position that most labels have spent years trying to reach.
