I recorded this set live for Rekt.Network on August 6, 2025—a front-to-back journey that blends my turntablist roots with the layered precision I call “digitablism.” I open in a cinematic, low-light zone, then push into bass-driven breaks and hip-hop DNA, building toward peak-hour energy before easing into a late-night comedown.

You’ll hear tight transformer and flare phrases, quick scribbles, and compact beat-juggle moments woven into long, patient blends. I treat vocal shards and atmospheres like instruments, using negative space, dynamic EQ moves, and phrase-aware cuts to lift tension without stepping on the groove.

This is me translating battle-style discipline to contemporary club architecture: crate-brain storytelling, careful cue discipline, and drops that are teased with micro-cuts and pattern shifts rather than brute transitions. It’s designed to hit on big systems but still reward headphone listening—arc, texture, and detail intact from start to finish.

Lana del Rey vs. Aphex Twin - 0035 1-Audio Shaped Box (DNSK Mashup)

This time I bring you a classic set from 2005 with Radio Soulwax / 2 Many DJ's, where they were live behind the decks at BBC 1, 2nd of January, 2005 doing a proper uptempo mix with a lot of variation in styles, sound and mood - musical soulfood in a classic Soulwax way of doing things. I enjoyed the set very much and so I decided to share it with you. I hope you get something out of this, because I surely did.

I ripped a DASH audio stream, which was encoded with Opus 251 @ 160 kbps, from YouTube and rendered it with the Vorbis codec into an ogg file at 320 kbps. I then refurbished the wave data with two FabFilter VST3 plugs where Audacity worked as an interface for the workflow. It doesn't sound very advanced, I know, but less is sometimes more; the more minimal a system is the lower the risk of fail.

Q3 (EQ) - The standout feature is the dynamic EQ mode - a simple ‘dynamic range’ dial accompanies the regular gain parameters on Pro-Q3’s interface, allowing you to quickly add compression or expansion to specific frequency bands. The plugin’s carefully-designed algorithm sets the attack, release and threshold automatically, streamlining and simplifying the compression process. Dynamic EQ changes the gain of an EQ band dynamically, depending on the level of the input signal. This makes it possible to perform subtle and surgical edits similar to a multi-band compressor.

L2 (Limiter) - Loudness cannot be easily measured, because perceived loudness depends on frequencies and can be highly subjective. Peak Normalization and Hard Limiting led to make the audio louder, without having a firm reference. The sophisticated ITU-R BS.1770 algorithm, through psychoacoustic models, introduced a new standard for measurements: the aforementioned Loudness Units, which refers to the perceived loudness. The EBU R128 suggests a -23LU loudness target, although this target may vary on different countries and applications. I set L2 to work around a target loudness between -12LU and -9LU because CDDA target format uses these values and I want the final wave to be perceived as loud without clipping or having other kinds of artefacts in the sound.
