Following the Stardancer EP and his remix for All I Need To Get High by Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons, Ae:ther unveils his most accomplished and daring work yet on the highly anticipated debut album Me released on Crosstown Rebels.

Blazing a trail with his natural aptitude for crafting emotive, captivating compositions that have landed him releases on Crosstown Rebels Afterlife and Fabric, Ae:ther presents his debut LP. The album is a painstakingly produced collection of haunting melodies and narcotic rhythms that display his love and inspiration for ambient electronica, deep underground music and introspective atmospheres, culminating in dreamlike soundscapes programmed with taut percussion. The album begins on Stardancer, setting the tone with gentle keys and space influenced licks that portray a cosmonaut ascending into the stratosphere. This moves into the glistening, atmospheric Finferli, where synths depict aliens conversing in a distant, just-discovered world. Sub-aquatic ambient fills We’ll be Together, boosts of energy and intricate melodies weave in and out of the vocal,
locked to the dubby groove.

Ice cold subtlety and the otherworldly electronics of Costes drip slowly like water down a pane of glass. A mood of relaxation and weightlessness continues on Tina, a tender beat combined with pattering echoed chimes. N.62, a special ethereal piece, features warm chords and reduced percussion, gradually developing like the morning sun rising.

Mysterious, playful charm unfurls on Elf, progressive harmony teases towards a crescendo before dropping back into the hypnotic beat. Clark is light and airy, funky melody constructing an interplanetary anthem. Stimulating a brooding mood, fuzzy clicks and glitches dance on the deep bass of Spektre II, conveying dust spraying off the surface of a moon landing. The shimmering ripples of electronica on title track Me fuse with delicate human vocals creating a heart-warming, personal account of Ae:ther’s relationship with his instruments. Trademark bleeps and blips wash over natural broken beats in one last final call to his utopia in the album outro.

Like something from yesteryear yet sounding totally fresh - This massive touch up takes the energy quantities up a level and increases the drive with stripped back and lucid elements, before the energetic groove creates a blanket of warmth that will put a smile on your face.

The second remix comes courtesy of label all-stars Mononoid, who bring a more progressive edge to 'All has Changed'. Their rework creates a good feel vibe from the word go, as the atmospheric and driving vibe keeps you moving with warm tinkling sounds, a smooth edge and some nicely effected sounding pieces that continue building to culminate into a lovely progressive house groover. We basically have the formula for a bit of a monumental outing. The sparseness is the key here, as this restrained gem works its magic while it plays away, creating a stunning glow, creating an air of sophistication.

With the talent on offer, Wally Lopez's 'All has Changed' manages to deliver a message of sustained musical relevance in emphatic fashion to warm the soul. Not to be missed! The latest release from Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes Victor Ortiz aka The Note V to the label for his debut EP. Since first appearing in 2012, the Mexican artist has found a home on Bar25, Manual Music and Steyoyoke where his unique take on melodic techno has flourished. Now following a remix for Sounds Of Earth, the Mexico City resident lands on Movement with 'Equilibre' alongside remixes from Magitman and Bessiff.

Beginning with the title track, The Note V collaborates with French artist Bessiff who is best known for this releases on Aftertech Records, Traum and Inner Symphony. Bringing their creative talents together the duo craft a slice of cosmic techno to set the mood of the EP. Backed by a warm yet punchy groove, it's fragmented arps, buzzing synth swells and astral stabs fill in a framework as the first act unfolds. Timely modulation elevates the mood before smooth chord changes shift the narrative into emotive territory across an ethereal break and radiant finale. The companion piece 'Eclipse' finds The Note V collaborating with Sergio Oyarvide whom he worked with once previously on an EP for KDB Records. Following a similar sonic ethos to its predecessor, the duo build a narrative of emotive bass swells, playful arps and cosmic creativities. It's spongy kick and perfectly sculpted bass flow with a wonderful warmth, as subtle shades and tones trail across the framework. The main break adds just the right amount of emotion to keep it's exquisite vibe fully intact, before effortlessly shifting energy into a purring finale.

The lone interpretation of 'Equilibre' is provided by Magitman who returns to the label for his fourth appearance. The Israeli artist has been a fixture of the electronic underground for well over a decade and that extensive experience is always evident in his work. Now a regular on Beat Boutique and Proton Music, he returns to Movement with a stunning take on 'Equilibre'. Remarkably fluid and undeniably modern, it's a mix that stays true to the delicate themes from the original, while adding a progressive essence through charming musicality and redolent rhythms. Timeless and emotive, the main break brings impassioned moments before pulling back for a tasteful drop and groovy final act.

Rounding out the release and providing the lone interpretation of 'Eclipse' is Bessiff who collaborated on the lead piece with The Note V. Now adding another magic touch to the release the French artist brings more of his inspired designs to 'Eclipse'. It's driving rhythmic core quickly becomes infectious as buoyant arps and astral motifs fill in the percussive gaps. Concise and perfectly timed, the main break drifts further into cosmic territory, meditative at moments and striking at others, it's cosmic musicality shines before a smooth energy bridge transitions the piece into a spaced out finale. A stunning remix from Bessiff, rounding out another great offering from Tash's Movement Recordings.
