Lit Up Mixtape

Back in 2016 I did a tour of Europe where I played 8 shows in 5 different countries, including Carl Cox Music is Revolution @ Space (Ibiza), Sideshow Kuts International Showcase @ ADE (Amsterdam), my old hometown Bournemouth & also making my debut in both Paris & Glasgow. It was a blast!

Very happy to have been asked to provide the 'Quest Mix' for Annie Nightingale's Radio 1 and 1Xtra show.

I took the "Quest" theme and applied it to the ongoing quest in life that is finding new music. So many places to find stuff these days; and so much out there! New, old, old but new, new but old and previously unreleased. Exciting times! It had to have a dancey theme, so I went through my purchases of the last year and tried to string them together in a coherent manner. From 80's Electro, Nigerian Disco, A solid chunk of B8B club set style stuff into grime instrumentals, hardcore and jungle. A few new bits, new aliases and me trying to explain the above concept at 4am in the morning and making a pigs ear of it...

All Good Radio, Ep. 09 --> Funk Bast*rd | Darker Than Wax

There comes those moments in your life that you kind of 'bookmark' as "the best moments" or whatever, right? The times when you get that natural high afterwards, cause whatever happened was just so fucking amazing, it left a permanent imprint in your brain. One of those times, was at Neon Steve & Friends Vol. 1 at Sugar Nightclub, on February 3rd, opening for my homeboy Neon Steve. 

Neon Steve is just a 10/10 kinda guy and a phenomenal producer. Neon Steve & Friends is a series of nights in the works where Steve plays alongside some slick locals. It's a REALLY good time. This mix is almost exactly a representation of the mix I played at Sugar on Feb. 3rd, 2017. It starts off slow and dark, makes its way through dance and lighter stuff, then speeds up and ends with a bang. It also debuts one of Neon Steve's newest and currently unreleased gems, "Easy Does It". In my opinion, it's his best work yet. 

This mix took me 3 weeks to finalize. Actually sweating at points and ending with tears in my apartment living room (really). This was made on two turntables with Serato SL3, an old school Rane Empath & Novation Dicers. It's packed with heaters and some of the mixes I worked on for days. Please give it a good listen through, and I LOVE feedback ;) Also who doesn't love Stranger Things?

To celebrate Daftside' birthday, one of the biggest Daft Punk fan and active person who contributed and contributes a lot to keep alive "French Touch" spirit and memory by working hard everyday on his websites "French Touch Forum & French Touch Info" that he founded in 2005 and 2011, consisting in informing people of news about Daft Punk and all the French Touch music movement, Mac Stanton decided to do a special Birthday mixtape to thank Mr Ludovic Carminati aka Daftside for all his hard work done till now!
That mixtape contains most of original tracks from "Homework Lp", first Daft Punk album released in 1997, plus 2 bonus tracks, one special Edit done by Mac Stanton, "Daftendirekt, Homework, Drive & Music Stanton Edit", and ending by a unreleased Daft Punk original production of 1994 "Drive"!
Actualy Daftside is working on a new project called "Daft Punk Anthology", that project is a new website which will talk about Daft Punk music and many other things important concerning the group!For now project is kept secret and we look forward to discover what is hidden behind!Stay tuned!
