Alexander Khomenko, better known as Sparkless among electronic music enthusiasts, was born on August 9, 1982, in the cultural hub of Russia, Saint Petersburg. Unlike many musicians whose love for music is innate, Alexander's passion for music developed gradually. It's challenging to pinpoint the exact moment, but it was the discovery of records from England and Italy that ignited his interest. As he matured, Sparkless began composing and curating music himself. However, he temporarily veered away from music composition by the late 90s, immersing himself more as a music connoisseur.

His journey into DJing was serendipitous. While signing up as a fan of a particular DJ on a music website, he stumbled into DJing, experimenting with mixing tracks. This newfound pursuit captivated him, becoming a steadfast passion that he continues to pursue, delighting his audience with fresh mixes consistently.

Sparkless has since become a prominent figure in the music scene, authoring over 150 music reviews in his homeland. For the past eight years, he has consistently ranked among Russia's top 100 DJs on the country's premier music platform.

Describing the music he champions as an "intellectual and emotional cocktail with deep philosophical undertones," Sparkless gravitates towards genres like Deep House, Nu Disco, DNB, Soulful, Atmospheric Breaks, and House.

A versatile DJ, Sparkless holds residencies at Alchemist Bar and Mantra Club, showcasing his talent across various venues.

Anna Domino joins Kenneth Bager & Findlay Brown on luminous art pop single

The cult pop singer conjures a spectral drama from the track’s halcyon production, wreathing the warm pads and joyful strings in the cosmic myth of Eurydice and Orpheus.
 
‘Don’t Look Back (Eurydice)’ will feature on Bager’s collaborative album with singer-songwriter Findlay Brown, set to come out in 2025. Brown’s vocals feature on the track as well, merging with the gauzy threads of Domino’s voice.
 
The collaboration has its own musical wellspring. Domino’s synth pop of the 80’s is a particularly revered item in the Balearic canon, which Bager – the veteran dj, producer and compiler – has played his part in assembling.
 
Anna Domino says about the song:
 
“When I heard the music Kenneth sent me, it suggested the feeling of a really good high.
 
What the lyrics describe is the seductive dream that a drug can provide - the genuine joy at being in a beautiful place that just happens to be hell. The question becomes - how do you find your way back home from such a nightmare.
 
So it is a story about Eurydice and her decision to leave the underworld. She speaks to Orpheus of her fascination and fear of the place as she leads him through it.
 
When I was a child, I saw the movie Black Orpheus and it broke my small heart. The power of that film has never left me.”
