Welcome to the fourth installment of Turn Up The Volume. This mix features the grooviest driving rhythms of Toolroom Records, with heavy influence from Maxinne, Kaniun, Siwell, and the boss himself, Mark Knight. And of course I had to put some Loudr flavor into this mix. This was a joy to make, and I hope you enjoy listening to this as much I did while playing it.

He may be one of the most lighthearted and goofy artists in the house realm right now, but DJ Susan is no joke. With a name chosen to sound as daft as possible, you might think there's nothing to be taken seriously about this producer-slash-label-boss, but you would be entirely mistaken. Between playing live shows all over the map, consistently churning out catchy tunes, and running his ever-expanding Hood Politics label, DJ Susan is a force to be reckoned with in the dance scene, and he's bound to keep soaring to unfathomable heights. 

Take a listen to any of his tunes, and you'll find that they're masterfully produced and invariably groovy. Whether it's solo tracks like the club-ready "Secrets" or collaborations with other tech house superstars like Cloverdale on "TALKIN," he's got a knack for crafting earworms that provide the perfect soundtrack to any dancefloor. Most recently, he teamed up with Maximo to deliver rolling percussion and some solid basslines for another fantastic house cut to join the rankings of his discography on "Dream Of You." But aside from just growing his own catalog, he's also been helping fellow up-and-coming producers across the globe make a name for themselves by providing a platform to grow creatively with Hood Politics Records.

DJ Susan is gearing up to deliver a can't-miss set at during the second weekend of Coachella, where he will bring his vivacious energy and house heaters to the Do LaB stage. His performance at the Sahara Tent last year marked his first appearance at the festival, and his 2023 return is sure to be one of the most fun-filled moments of the weekend. DBT stands for Do Big Things. What started as a joke in middle school has slowly transformed into an authentic movement.  Nate is from Northern Virginia and established DBT when he took his musical interest to another level while studying at the University of Miami. Beginning with college parties and moving into some of the top venues in the country, DBT has been crafting his own events and supporting other artists with a distinct energy for over a decade. Throughout college he performed at renowned Miami venues, winning multiple highly-competitive contests including a stand-out from Avicii and Steve Aoki. After gaining a strong presence in Miami he moved back to the DC area and began throwing his own events where his track record is comprised of dozens of sold out, solo headline shows at the most notable venues in the district. Much more than just gigs, these events were the culmination of his true passion, bringing like-minded people together through music. Up and down the East Coast, strangers quickly became friends, and friends became family, organically forming a beautiful community, “DBTnation”.

A few years later, in search of a new scene and sunshine, he set-up shop in San Diego to bridge DBTnation from the East to the West coast. From this, In The Bag Productions was born. A boutique-style, event production company, focused on creating 1-of-1 experiences and bringing out every attendees inner-weird. This is comprised of over-the-top productions, childlike themes, and ridiculous costumes. Most importantly, however, are the people on the dance floor. In The Bag focuses on empowering local San Diego talent, ranging from drummers to belly dancers and DJs, with opportunities to shine and share their magic. All of these factors combined, contribute to a resounding energy that can only be found In The Bag. 

Much larger than a single DJ, DBTnation is an expansive web of creative and connected individuals around the world. We invite you to become a part of this juicy community and look forward to meeting you on the dance floor.
