In this EP he has worked with D.O.C. label mastermind Gui Boratto, their new EP sports music for the dance floor, full of groove, lush harmonies and organic undertones. “Chico Buarque Construção Revisited” by L_cio is a beautiful debut project part of a DOC series of releases combining classic Brazilian names with DOC artists and producers.

L_cio (Laercio Schwantes) the man with the transverse flute known for some of the freshest and unique tracks coming out from Brazil is behind this gemstone.
Increasingly building a legacy of fans following his live performances and recent releases on DOC Records (Vazio; Traffic; People Talk; Schwantes), this man is a non-stoppable 30 hours machine gun.
On this long awaited 2-track limited edition vinyl release, L_cio and Gui Boratto kept the roots of this classic track “Construção”. However they added all the proper elements of a techno dance floor knockout. By inserting malicious baselines, flutes and strings they generated aggressive melodies while keeping all characteristics of this epic song.

Voted as the greatest Brazilian song by Rolling Stones magazine, “Construção was originaly recorded by Chico Buarque in 1971 with production by Roberto Menescal. Released during military dictatorship, Chico Buarque criticizes the way of life of the Brazilian workers, comparing them to machines.

The song is known for its interchangeable last words, used “as if they were pieces of a board game”, as said by Buarque.
Generatiions apart, Construção (L_cio & K_ri Version)” and “Construção (L_cio & Boratto’s Deconstructed Mix)” are the first ever authorized remixes in over 45 years.

L_cio the latest dance floor brazilian soldier, a menacing builder of beats completes an epic turnnig point by editing and lapidating a classic poetry.

Headed by a Carioca who was blessed with the name of
his own hometown, MooDisco contains a 3-track bomb from Leo Janeiro with DOC label boss Gui Boratto and a very special remix by French act Rodriguez Jr.  

This could just be a happy coincidence, where it’s not for the fact that Leo’s trajectory made him a protagonist of the electronic music scene in his hometown, Rio de Janeiro.  He built a career dedicated to music. In a city with so many daytime attractions, it is the night and electronic music that has been blessed with his talent.  He has compiled an impressive list of residencies and performances globally. Known as one of the ambassadors for Brazilian electronic music, Leo has the ability to combine originality with a universal language. Just like his hometown.

On this limited edition vinyl and digital release, Leo Janeiro, Gui Boratto and Rodriguez Jr. present a serious track sequence of techno and house beats. Each artist has kept its own trademark.  ”I had a lot of ideas and one of them was to have a remix by an artist that I admire, respect and have a personal relationship”, says Leo Janeiro.

Rodriguez Jr. (Oliver Mateu), shared his unique talent creating a remix for MooDisco.  He is the one half of French electro act The Youngsters – best known for their two studio albums and singles for Laurent Garnier’s label. Rodriguez Jr. reveals a different incarnation of Mateu’s musical psyche; moving through shimmering, contemplative electronica, to deep and urgent techno, leftfield melodic accents and quirky pop refrains.  A perfect blend for this project.

MoodDisco is a combination of artists and friends on the move. They are tireless in enthusiasm and are bursting with new tunes and projects.

Following the recent release of their acclaimed debut EP  ‘The One and Only’ (DOC 015), IAO is back with a storming new release single ‘Redemption’ - a techno trip with depth, a serious call for the dance floor.

IAO is a word that comes from the Yoruba language and means "initiated." The project and a live set from Paula Chalup and Lucas Parisi have been shaking the scene in each new performance. They have been playing in important festivals and parties showing their authenticity and unique trademark. 
Paula Chalup is one of the restless heads of the Brazilian electronic music scene. In addition to her solo work as one of the most respected female DJ in the nation, (she began on sacred ground, at the Hell's Club), she keeps turning, moving and inventing partnerships that result in incredible sounds.

Lucas Parisi the other IAO’s half is a former drummer. He studies his productions from deep researches such as from composers like Stockhausen and John Cage.  He is always experimenting new timbres and textures as in ‘Redemption’.

The single was produced during a live session in one take during a 2-hour momentum. One of those magical encounters in the duo’s studio.  The art of the single was painted by acclaimed and eccentric Portuguese artist  Luio Zao,  who among several projects painted one of the most famous streets in Lisbon and record covers for Michal Mayer. A perfect fit for IAO´s Redemption, mixed by the one and only Hannes Bieger.

The São Paulo based electronic duo, always pride themselves on creating something distinctly unique and have been responsible for some of the freshest and most exciting techno live sets of recent months. This single will definitely ensure that this season IAO will secure a major place in the realm of electronic music.

‘Redemption’ is what some people claim happens to your soul when you're saved from evil forces. You might pray for redemption — to the tooth fairy, or to some other kind of invisible being — in the hopes that an all-powerful being can save your soul. But until then we suggest to simply enjoy the power and the beauty of IAO’s new track.

DOC Sessions Ep. 13 - KOMKA

DOC Records is proud to welcome Luiz Coppola Monegatto aka Coppola for a delightful and powerful EP entitled “Kings & Queens”. 
Coppola is a young underground DJ and producer with unique talent from São Paulo. The artist began to take an interest in electronic music when he was a little kid. At the age of 15, he began a production course and was noticed by one of the main agencies in the nation. 
Coppola’s incessant search for new textures generates an unprecedented musical brilliance. His remarkable production skills and live gigs are his trademarks. 
This 2-track EP is a surprising present to all house, techno and indie dance lovers.  A soundtrack affair with special guests from 2Strange and a special remix from Gui Boratto. 
“Kings & Queens” is a combination of beautiful synths and melodies with a direct bass line on top of a dry comforting drum session.   The duo 2Strange delivers a sharp vocal mood, turning into an intense and introspective work with a superb positive energy level. 
The track caught the attention of label boss Gui Boratto who gifted us with a massive dub remix version entitled  “Gui Boratto Drag’s Mix“, another dance floor killer jewel for our joy. 
Inspired by Todd Terje, Eric Prydz, and Ten Walls, Coppola is a secret weapon coming out of Brazil, and now part of DOC Family. 
The prodigy kid has supported some significant international names, like Marco Carola, Richie Hawtin, Solomun, Gui Boratto, ANNA, Wehbba, Paco Osuna, to name a few.  Coppola has been conquering his space and fans in the Brazilian scene and is ready to reach out to the globe.
Joyful and upbeat Coppola will definitely shine in the land of electronic music.

DOC RECORDS is an independent record label founded in 2013 and operated by Brazilian architect and music producer Gui Boratto. The name is a reference to "Denominazione Di Origine Controllata" or D.O.C., used for certifying all different types of food which follow a set of regulations and come from specific geographical areas. In this case, it's about music that relates to Gui's own sound-like principles: to Gui, more important than style, it is the music itself that and its beauty and harmony that count the most. Thus, the intent to launch quality timeless music, avant-garde, rhetorical and with a well defined and efficient language and expression, regardless of its shell. 

After all, there's only good or bad taste.
